Hey, klawlegna, i didnt know where to put this msg so im putting it here.
Im a fellow Rifleman and think our forum is one of the most organized and resourceful ones out there. I wish the others were as good as this one. Thank you for being such a helpful corespondent.
I need a little help though. I am a wookiee rifleman and am getting my butt wooped at times. Im a decent PvPer but the thing is, i get runned down BECAUSE I am a wookiee. I was hoping you could bring up the attention of the wookiee race to the devs because i didnt know who else to turn to. I think wookiees need to have armor, I heard they could use RIS but im unsure of this. I really wish they would make some type of wookiee armor to even out the fighting against people witharmor. All I can use is a mk.3 generator that barely works and is not very effective as armor.
I am part of the most underdogged combos.... the Wookiee Rifleman. We have high stats but it doesnt help us wen sumone with lower stats can take twice as more damage.Let us wookiee rifleman use chitin armor at least. Thanx klawlegna.

I agree wookies need some kind of armor specialy made for them, not as strong as composite though.

Why not as strong as Composite? I say if they want armor, then they get stats like everyone else. I don't see the point why they can't wear armor and why the Wookiee Battle Padding or whatever it's called gives no defenses at all (even though it is a Tailored item).

I've never understood how they expect us to believe that an entire RACE failed to develop some sort of combat gear...
It's completely unrealistic, pretty much as stupid as you can get.

And to make things worse, the PSGs' don't work correctly, which affects everyone, specifically the wookiee in this case.

I dont have a wookie character, but I think you guys should get armor. It should be special, and it looks like it was made in the forest (much like the hide skirts and such), but it has decent stats (maybe 50% or so) and the wookies still have their ham bonuses and regeneration rates (not sure what else ya got)

KStarFire the Star Warsy correspondent has listed armor as the main Wookiee issue. Though I took exception to his contention that Wookiees should have "bone and hide" armor. Wookiees are technologicaly advanced. They wouldn't limit themselves to such basic types of armor.

The reason it shouldn't be as strong as composite is because wookies already have increased stats, so if they had increased stats and armor as good as composite it would be unfair to everyone else.

C'mon .. its NOT THAT BAD. I belive wookiees make the best rifleman (umm bowcasters .. cough, cough), but some of you might disagree. Just think about a wookiee pistoleers or carabineers or TKAs etc... now THATs BAD
. In other words the rifleman is the only viable pvp profession for wookiees. Dont expect to win every time, often you will get toasted, but same applies to other rifleman breeds.
Saying that .. is there any issue with wookiees .. umm yes. The one which is hurting me personally is the fact that just few wookiee clothing pieces can have bio-enhanced mods built in.. if this was fixed, we would be much better. And I would not wear ANY armor.. ever..
Plus if wooks ever got an AP1 bowcaster or maybe a higher bowcaster certificte... umm it would be very nice add-on, but I can keep dreaming.
Also wookieeroar +20 mind buff is .. just laughable.
To sum up current wookiee related issues:
- wookiee clothing not accepting BE enhancements,
- bowcaster has no AP,
- wookieeroar is useless.
Btw get yourself decent bowcaster something like 200-450 (sliced, powerup'ed), with 50+% wound chance .. cough cough...

Note re: few BE enhancements in wookiee clothing .. I was reffering to defensive modifiers.

Well if wookies are not to have any armor they atleast should have a much higher cap on Focus and Willpower. I mean their main weapon is a rifle, what type of culture chooses a weapon they suck with?
BTW who fixed the falcon all the time? Chewbacca. Name a primative culture that can fix spacecraft.

Actually the solution is rather simple. Wookiees have 13% more stats than a Human and most other races. All you do is increase the encumberance of the armor by 13% and lower the resists by 13%. This negates the HAM bonuses.

waste you should become our wookiee correspondent. I read the gcw post on wookiee armor and you were the only intelligent person there. How is it that a warrior race can't strap a trashcan lid to their chest for more protection? its just common sense.
