Thread: HAM Stats
If you are going fully rifleman, the sad fact is that with the 2.5 melee multiplier almost everything will kill you very fast. It does not really matter if you have 1000 or 500 health. if something charges you, you are dead in most cases anyway.
Also, getting your HA stats buffed by doctors is easier, faster, more effective and easier to find than getting buffs for M. Also it's healable.
So my recommendation would be to max out all mind stats and take lower health/action pools instead.
I've got mine at 800/650/800 (I think - just migrated them). I found that with buffs I can get over 1100, at which point I can spam specials on my T21 just like any other pistoleer (3/1/3/2). I'm experimenting with cranking up the regen rate at the expense of the pool right now.
My stats are set like this
Health800/Action800/Mind800/Focus900/Willpower500
My down time aint that bad, and creatures need to hit me more than once to kill me.
I have my stats set to the following
Health 800/400/400
Action 700/400/400
Mind 900/700/700
With buffs I my stats are usually this.
Health 2100/1900/1900
Action
We need an edit button!!!!!
As I was saying with buff I am usually around
Health 2100/1900/1900
Action 2100/1900/1900
Mind 1900/1500/1500
i am a mon calamari, and i started my toon as a scout. what i need to know is whatthe best HAM layout for my character. also, is focus or willpower more important?
thanks
Not sure what the min/maxes are for your race, but really you'll want to max both focus and willpower. Don't quote me, but I think willpower scales a little better then focus (regen rate increase pays of a bit more then the special cost decrease iirc). However, you'll really want to max both of them together as our specials are rather mind intensive and you'll want as much benefit from both as possible. Even with both maxed you're still going to want to have access to musician buffs, food, and/or spice depending on the situation.
Quite a few folks have basically gone with the template of going high on health/action, min on those secondaries, and then every other point spent to max mind/focus/willpower. For an example, my initial layout with my zabrak was 900/300/300, 900/300/300, 1000/500/900. I've modified it a bit as I now have a pet master doctor and I've been wearing armor of late, but that was just a personal preference.
