Thread: this is screwed up

ok - i am a melee character Master Pike, skills fencer TKA Master Brawler. We used to hit master riflemen with 2.5times damage multiplier - this got changed to an accuracy increase. My TKA/fencer/riflemen friend noticed that mynocks cant hit him when he has his rifle connected so we duel(we both have 165melee D), when he is TKA i hit him way more than when he equip his rifle - so rifle is a better melee D? weapon than melee weapons? I have marksmen 3 0 0 0 and so conduct the following test:

now i am not calling NERF on riflemen - infact i hate this nasty cycle of nerfing - but hey u shouldnt be harder to hit when u equip and rifle in melee combat when u equip a rifle should you.

You guys know whats up with this?

yeah - im mean i hope that gets fixed - i believe riflemen need an increase in range - and that they should be able to wipe the floor with me at range - but i should annihilate them up close - and that annihilation might be a bit easier if we got the bonus to hit.

They know about it, I PMed TH with the details so if they don't fix it in this publish then they are dumb. I'm sorry but it's true, making someone holding a rifle harder to hit than melee professions is just stupid.

Whyhellothere I must say I totally agree with you: you should be able to kill me in a short time when you reach me, but we should be able to kill you when you're far from us riflemen. But since we have the same attack range of a pistoleer and with the Def stack you can be very hard to hit, it's the whole system that neeeds to be balanced.

Yesterday (I was unbuffued) a friend of mine healed an overt doctor that was being kicked by an Imp fencer (he's quite newin the game so he didn't know that he would get a TEF).

I was 57 mtrs away when the fencer started to beat him. Iwent prone (not a master yet), aimed, flurry shot...

Miss! What? aim, shot... Miss! ??? (at this point my friend is dead and he spots me) shot.. Miss! ?? the fencer /burstrun and is getting closer.. shot... miss! oh s***.. the fencer is close to me.. Dizzy, KD, Blind,Stun.. Dead!

I mean, not a single shot has land, at the optimal range!

And they want to put a speed cap to our fire rate?? if a Fencer takes some ranged defense and wears a BE undershirt with some def mod, how the hell is a rifleman supposed to hit him? with burstrun you can walk the 64mts of our max range in a few secs...

The Devs should really rework the def stack thing and the combat system, there's something that doesn't work at all inthe currentsystem, IMHO.

But of course I'm not calling for a nerf,and I still like this gamea lot


P.S.->I don't think the guy was a master fencer, I saw his bio page but there was no Master Fencer badge.

There aredevs looking into the coding as of now. If I hear anything official, I'll post it.

on a side note, my testing experience has shown that if you intimidate a rifle holding player you will hit him more consistantly. If you BLIND a rifle-wielding character, you will miss even less. Stun accomplishes this as well.


ps: hopefully they fix it in this patch.

I would run far away too, seeing as how the AK-47 isn't very accurate to say the least.

AK-47 is the Real world version of the spraystick. gotta get up close and stick it in someone's butt and you will still miss half the time...
