I just became a rifleman yesterday, andI got myself a damage sliced T21...though I wish it was speed sliced, I cannot afford to get another one.

Im going buffed to dantooine and doing huurton and quenker missions, and i hit them maybe 1:10 shots...I mean theres nothing I can do, they run at me, and running away doesnt help. Strafe shot does quite a lot of damage, but it has even worse accuracy plus the mind cost is destroying me...Should I be using the T21? Or am I just doing something wrong or fighting the wrong things?

I'm also qualified for Rifle abilites I, but wasn't sure if its worth going for it right away if it's not going to help all that much...

Any other tips for a new rifleman are greatly appreciated, thanks

its really hard to solo at novice rifle..youll need atleast 1 person to help...if you can find som1 to tank for you and you just do all the damage youll be set i would suggest going up sniping line first for accuracy

prone, you can get three headshots in, with a couple more when they close in, you should be okay.

or you can do one mindshot and two headshots.

If you have two that's really close together, prone and use warningshot(you do have that, right?) to drive one away, then take care the other one.

I would use a laser rifle for that level before you get conseal shot, or you can do what i do, buy crates of 33% speed plus mod and muon gold.

Let me tell you all, I mastered the bounty hunter profession and rifleman is no joke on trying to get xp. I'd to the investigation line over again. Lots of respect to the master rifleman out there

Don't rely solely on the T21. Get a DLT20a or Spraystick. Something that can fire fast.

Get powerups for your T21. Since you have a damage slice look for speed powerups.

Go prone and fire off one or two MindShots at the target. Then peace, standup, switch to fast firing weapon, and pull back. The MOB will start to chase you once the bleed "ticks".

Use WarningShot to keep it away. You'll either want buffs or food to lower your HAM costs for using WarningShot. Tat Sunburn works fairly well. As will Breath of Heaven.

Another variation is to go prone and bleed all the targets. Peace, get up, and run to your vehicle and use it to kite while the bleeds tick. Once the target is down to one mind. Get off the vehicle and shoot it with a regular shot. Any hit will kill it.

What i would do is use your damage sliced t21, get buffed, take some breath of heaven(to lower ham costs), and go to dantooine and get savage quenker missions.

o yea, and then go prone, you can get 3 shots off before the mob starts running for you, if you have a good damage powerup on your rifle, with mindshot2, 3 if you have it, you can usually kill the savage quenker in 3 shots. if your grouped, this will give between 3-4k per quenker, 6 per lair. its really good exp.

bump...still havent found the right creature...

I try pikets, good xp, but take waaaaay too long to kill...quenkers aggro and warning shot for some reason doesnt work, so I get fried...I've heard about these "langlatch" things on Lok on a thread from back in August, but I don't see missions for those...I've been told gurks...which im about to try now...feral banthas, which I cant even find...

I'm not saying I think I should have Master Rifleman within the next hour, but it shouldn't be this boring/difficult...

It is that boring and difficult, but in the end it's worth the effort.

Langlatches and spined snake recluses on Lok are fairly easy for low level riflemen. If you dont have conceal shot get it asap, once you do you should be able to take those quenkers without too much trouble just by proning out at 55-60m and spamming cs (no real need to cover)....although it will take a little extra time.

I have conceal shot, and I use that as often as possible, but it's extremely slow and my mind is out usually before I killthe thing...

I've been looking for the langlatchs, but I can't find any misisons for it, i try carrying my T21, flamethrower, grouping my one pet...I never get them...whats the payment usually for them?

WarningShot doesn't seem to work well against some creatures.

Also get a droid and group with it. You get an XP bonus for being grouped. So it will go a bit faster.

You may also want to check the Levisquals on Rori. They are slow so you can kite them. Or at least they were, don't know if that has been changed. The Langlatchs on Lok use to be this way but have been sped up. They will now catch you.

I was always partial to Pikets. The missions are easy to get from the terminal and good xp and pay. Though it is slow to kill them. But as a novice Rifleman just about everything worth killing for XP is going to take a fair amount of time.

I cant get langlatch missions either, you have to wander around to find nests. It's not hard tho, they're all over the place.

I rode conceal shot all the way to master without even considering using muon (and then spent the next week kicking my own arse for wasting time). It took alot of time, but the payoff was that the bad guys rarely fought back.

See if you can find a crate (or 4) of muon gold, or find an entertainer to do mind buffs. If you do any pvp at master, you'll need the muon anyway.
Migrate stats into your mind pools (in the end, I settled for 850 mind/500 focus/800 willpower).
If you need money, conceal shot + salt mynock missions on Lok are a good way to go. Kill everything you see between the mission terminal and the objective.

If you cant get muon by the crate and dont have the patience for conceal shots, stack bleed shots on gurks, vesps or mynocks, get on a speeder and run around until their mind pools are gone.

PEACE through victory.
