Thread: Not Overpowered
1) GOOD DAMAGE AND SPEED (But like bh I had to waste skill points for master marksman to fire that fast, though not as many as them)
we have three areas that were glaring holes in our power.
two areas: we suck close up for attacks and the melee penalty we had forced us to not go toe-to-toe at point blank. (both of which are removed due to dev intention and dev bug)
and the third ham costs (these are going to change real soon and the chef revamp will pretty much make this a non issue anymore for us)
with most of our weaknesses removed we HAVE become or will VERY soon become truly overpowered. we need to stop this before the devs start nerfing without our input.
As far as the defenses being out of wack - well tonight I got owned by a carbineer. This guy had everything migrated to health and action, no mind. I went prone at 64m,/mindshot1; /headshot2;/headshot2;/headshot2 - all misses! I'm not a Master yet, but come on... He threw a KD my way, knocked me down and started to beat on me. I finally got up and noticed my bleed almost has him down. I hit /headshot;/headhsot - 2 misses again in a row, then he KD'd me for the last time - I couldn't get up at all. And he was not a master.
I know rifleman suck before master, but come on. 5 shots that missed, and he hits both times with a KD. He never missed me from 64/63m!
I want nothing else, but just a little KD defense. H shouln't be easily zapping me at 64m - his accuracy should be shot to hell at that range.
I just want some KD defense - just a little, not being greedy here.
All the people who complain but have never shot a t21 themselves don't understand that we don't get to blind them, or make them unable to attack or knock them down as many times as one wishes.
However i find it funny that in terms of pure DPS with proper focus buffs i can outdo any other profession that i've seen.
We were not overpowered with 2.5x melee damage, with super bugged melee defence we are way overpowered at close range imo.
The problem is not that you are overpowered. Its that your guns are more powerfull than any other weapon, short of Heavy weapons. And your ability to Dot the mind pool, heavily, from 64 meters.
Dont get me wrong. Rifles are suposed to be powerfull, and it is the hardest ranged class to level, unless you through BH in there.
Another thing people look at is your damage types, and AP level. As far as i know, you have the only Heavy AP weapon in the game, other than heavies. You get the strongest Stun damage weapon in the game. You will soon have an AP2 Acid rifle as well. (I really hope they fix the heavy acid rifle before they release this, or we will loose many Commandos im sure...)
There are also some bugs now, which allow double and triple mastery stacking. Some people mistake the use of a rifle by these folk as the reason they cant be hit at all. This coupled with the fact that if your oponent missies 95% of the time, most of them use a T21 to top off ther PVP template.
You SHOULD be powerfull. As far as "Powerfull" and its meaning goes, I look at it this way. If i wanted to use these guns, Id become a rifleman, If im not a rifleman, I dont get a vote on weather they are "too powerfull" or not.
Im getting tired of my pa leader telling me that i need to be nerfed because of conceal shot. He is a freakin TKM in the time it takes me to take out 1 piket he kills three. Oh yeah he takes damage big woop de doop, He can heal it by praying for a few seconds. I have to sacrfice my health and action in order to get the mind to actually stay in a fight. I have learned how to fight animals using only 400 health and action. I am not a CH so when I hunt alone I am the only thing standing inbetween myincap and the creatures death. It has taken time and preseverence to get where i am and i am not a master.
i finally got feed up with him last night, after he hit on my fiancee. I planned on getting my butt kicked. However, i had paid a doc to buff my health and action bars about 1 hr before. I challenged him and he accepted withing 10m of me. before i could fire a shot he had hit me three times for over 400 pts of damage. Good thingI have a decent spraystick. I took off and spammed hs 3 6 times, hs2 10 times. And ran away. Niether one of us was wearing armor. I took him down. Got him lost in his own screen and buildings. Its not that we are overpowered. Its that because of our cirucmstances we have to adjust and learn how to play our class very carefully. TKM's run in and level everything in a matter of few seconds. I have to take time, distance, dots, escape routes, drink, food, and drugs to keep me fighting.
He got ticked when i was down to 50 mind against a piket, without wearing armor, and all the sudden my mind takes a 455pt leap. He is too busy spamming attacks. I watch my mind bar and tend it like shepherd tends his sheep with care and attention.
I do agree though we need a melee damage multiplier or something applied against us within 10-15m I get hit less often than my TKM pa leader. I have taken it upon myself to be the tank for groups fighting weak creatures. And that just shouldnt be happening.
