Ok, here's the deal. I run a small PA on Bria, we found a nice spot on Rori to place our townhall. We placed a townhall last night and had 7 citizens, we knew we had 24 hours to bring that up to 10. No problem, we had 3 players logging in tonight to complete that minimum. Tonight comes...our 3 log in, place houses, declare residency, 10 citizens, perfect, we're all set to rumble. Well, now here comes the kicker. We had about1 hour until our 24 hour limit was up, so while we're all moving stuff from old location to our new locations one of our members decides he doesn't like his house placement, so he redeeds his house, places it down goes to declare residence... "you cannot do this for 23 hours"...so as we're scrambling around now only with 9 citizens trying to get one more up our town hall poofs. yay...Nice job on the programming there.

So...even though we hit 10 citizens, it did NOT reset a grace period to get the 10th back in after he picked up his house. Now we're not heavy board readers but I think this is a gross problem and something VI should have thought about. Anyone on the edge with only 10 members can have the exact same thing happen should someone decide to redeed. So a word of caution, don't make the same mistake.

Honestly i feel some warnings of some sort should be emailed out. We assumed there must be some sort of grace period that would allow us 24 hours to get back to 10. Well, assumption is the mother of all mistakes.

We're all pretty much disgusted by the fact that a silly little thing programmed into the game like only being able to declare residence once every 24 hours can completly destroy an outpost. It was an eye opener. I'd say in a scenario like that VI would be happy to help us out, but considering the lack of help in the past I'd doubt to ever even hear back from our petitions.

I understand that this can be annoying, but the 24 hour period is there for a reason (exploit prevention).

While it certainly is a bother for you, I appreciate you bringing this matter to the boards for others to benefit from it.

I hope that you get a new outpost soon, and I hope to be able to visit it when I take my intergalatic Player City tour!

yes, you have 3 days after you are already recignised as a city... but i think he means that they were in the very first 24 hours after hall placement where you have to get the numbers up within 24 hours to be called a city.

after that then yes, you get 3 days to get back up to 10..

also the time frame for declaring residency before player cities was a week (full 7 days), they changed it to 24 hours with the big patch last week

If the city ever shrinks below 10 citizens, the city hall is marked as invalid and the city shrinks straight to outpost size. At that point, the city has 3 days to raise their citizenship above 10. If they don't, the city hall is removed.

That's a quote directly from the Advanced PLayer City Guide. So much for 3 **edit** days. We didn't have 30 minutes. As I mentioned above, we MET the requirements, and did expect some sort of time period to fix the problem our member had when he picked up his house and we dropped to 9 citizens.
