Thread: Sadly, we didn't place, but due to a spawn

Yep. We were first out of the block and had several tries at placing, but we got to our town where our 6 medium harvesters were completely blocking out a 10x9 area for our player city hall. And guess what.

There was a static POI pirate camp spawned ON TOP of our harvesters. like actually IN the geometry of the structure.

So, clearly, we couldn't place when we tore them down. We tried tearing down a PA hall nearby but were too small in that slot by one space.

by the time we decided to just throw down on the periphery, we were too late and tatooine had capped.

I really don't understand these caps. It doesn't make any sense at all to me. Why would you cap it this way? Why not let towns build up and let players balance out the number of cities?

In any case, our space for placing our hall is not within 1km of a current city, so hopefully, barring another broken static spawn, we'll be able to place when the caps are raised.

Any word on this? I'm really frustrated as we had this beautiful concert of people working together to get a city placed. Our politician, our architect, our owner of the placeholders... we all worked fluidly together to make this thing happen, but were stopped by a buggy quest system for a broken POI.

I submitted a CS ticket, but i'm sure the only response they'll give me is "Submit a bug" which is utterly inapropriate.

When are they going to raise caps? I sure hope it's not next month. I, and the rest of my PA, really have been looking forward to our player city since day one.

Zen, I would hope it's next month ... I think 3-4 weeks is optimistic for them fixing/upgrading this code if they weren't close enough to do it now or in the next few days. Being pessimistic would be saying 2-3 months.

I do think that they need to give customers solid information ASAP on the projected timeline for eliminating or raising the caps, but I think there's a lot of data about Cities and how they operate that they want to gather in the next couple weeks of capped Cities before they'll step out on a limb and give us any predictions on future changes.
