There is a rumor going around that there will only be *two* Shuttleports allowed per city. Truth or Fiction?

This one has been circulating for at least a few days now, and I wanted to find out the facts...

I know, I know

My constituents are gonna revolt if there's a shuttleport cap though. I had to make sure

If this is the case then the Shuttleport should be made a Rank V enabled structure and not a Rank IV structure.

As we are the first Playercity on Gorath *proud* I'd rather like to know if there is a 1 Shuttle limit per city

I don't know about 2... but there should be a spacing limitation... 2k from another shuttle sounds intelligent... prevents having shuttles 500m from another... or crazy unrealistic stuff like that.

There will most likely be a limit knowing these devs... and the database... I actually think such a limit might be a good thing. It seems a lot of cities are almost solely motivated by the potential to have a shuttle near some POI. Such a cap would limit this somewhat.

Yeah, the one thing the devs are good at is blaming others for the woes of this game...

Personally I think Shuttleports should carry a larger "nobuild" radius around them than Player Cities do.

It's kind of ODD to see 4-5 cities "JAMMED" right next to existing cities.. really there's not much of a point to that in my humble opinion.

Perhaps a 3KM no-build for Shuttleports would be a better "cap" solution?

Why do we need a "solution"? Your average city has a bus stop every few hundred yards, why shouldn't we have the same number ofshuttleports? If starports are the airports of tomorrow, then shuttles are the busses of the future (or the past, a long long time ago...)

OK, first of all, there seems to be confusion within this post. The original poster said "2 shuttleports per city", others are talking about an overall cap (perhaps 2 player shuttleports per planet?)

To answer the first one, why would a player city need more than two shuttleports? The thing can't get over 1k diameter. Place them well (as opposed to one in the middle of town) and there will be nowhere in town further than 600-700m (and that's at the very edge of town). Most places in town would be within 300m or so, which isn't very far to run.

However, if there turns out to be a limit on the number of shuttles per planet (like 2 player shuttleports total) this would make more people angry than the player cap did, since not only those who are now behind in growth due to the cap will be mad, but even the 8 other player cities who fit under the cap but don't get a shuttle would be mad too. This seems unlikely, as a shuttleport takes up minimal database space.
