Exactly how terrain sensitive is a City Hll? Can anyone tell me?

By edge misconfigurations in the green square...I meant to ascertain if the terrain was truly flat, or slightly contoured. Basically, was the edges of the green square nice and straight, or was there allowance for some "crumpling" i.e. bumps or dips in the terrain.

And you have been a big help. We have 3 possible locations within the general vicinity. The furthest will definitely hold, but is 350m away. The closest encompasses our houses, but may not allow placement.

In the end, we shall have to see. We are on Corellia, btw...not the best terrain to build on...

try using a player hall as test tool, if the hall fits more then likely city hall will also

Because in order to be sure that the City Hall is properly "anchored", we'd have to get people online from Asia, Europe and the US within 24 hours or it evaporates. And this is a true player town, not a PA town, so we do not have the organization of a PA to make this work.


Just want to make sure that it's placeable before getting everyone out of bed to pull up all the structures and declare residency.

Well since I was able to place in the first wave. I have no idea on what happens when cap is reached. Can you still attempt to place, and have it go green?, or as soon as ya use the deed, do you get a message saying no more?

To *directly* answer your question. We placed our city hall on one of the most uneven pieces of terrain we could find. This was also halfway up a hill. It's probably *the* most terrain-robust structure in the game (which was proven on TC before live).


The only place you can't put it is water apparently. I hope this helps

I found the opposite. The City structures are majorly terrain-finicky. This being said, slopes are fine, but gullies on the green edges are killers. We had to shop around several spots (DURING THE LAND RUSH) to drop ours....200m south of where we intended. Always it was one of the durn gullies near the edge preventing placement.

Defcon. For your information, you can find a suitable spot for Your City hall without placing it. I did this. select the Deed in your data pad and select the use option.


You will get the warning that once you place City hall you cannot redeed or whatever to that effect and an option for choosing yes or no to continue. select YES.


You will then have to enter a name for the city (you can always change this later as Mayor) and then you will get placement grid just as you would for any building. Find a spot where you get all green. If you do you can build hall there. If you don't repeat process until you do find a green area. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. once you find you green area move the hall so that it goes RED then hit the ESC key (escape key) on your keyboard. this will cancel the build process.


Lastly create a waypoint for the spot you are at when you find a suitable build spot. Will save you time when you are actually ready to place the CIty hall. also you can NOTIFY your citizens, to not build within 100m or so of that waypoint. I had to have several citizens move their houses, because they put them up ahead of time and that made the City hall impossible to place due to the proximity of some of the houses.


I would find spot, then COORDINATE with all your citizens, let them know the EXACT time you place the Hall and have them then set up their houses.


Anyway enough rambling. Hope that you find this info useful and good luck to you and your group! Again it is a very beneficial exercise to Find the hall build spot ahead of time!

It's not too sensitive but because of the large size is still a pain to place if you are in an area with unlevel terrain. I placed mine in the middle of a large valley with a few small hills on dantooine so it's doable.

We have identified a plot, but there is a slight slope. We're a bit worried that this will prevent placement.

Currently houses have no problems being placed on the site, but from another thread, I've read that areas on which houses can be placed do not guarantee city hall placement.

Did you by any chance notice edge misconfigurations (on the green square) when you placed yours?

Not sure what you mean by edge misconfigurations, sorry.


You may be able to place it on a slope if it's not too steep. There is a bit of leeway for terrain height adjustment. The city hall has a large foundation similar to houses but not quite as high.


As far as the house placement goes, no that's no guarantee. A city hall is much larger than a house. I'd say if you can place a PA hall there it will probably hold a city hall tho.
