Thread: Poll: Player or Devs Fault
This is just a general example. No reference to any one player is intended.
Player places a City Hall in the middle of a gully surrounded by ravines. Player now has trouble placing structures due to the terrain.
A - Player should have chosen a better place to form a city.
B - Developers should have designed a better structure placement system.
I have seen more than a few posts regarding the above scenario and would like to see what the majority feels.
players fault....
why??
1. player can choose a different place to place..
2. Devs already gave specifics on city limitation (i.e. distant in radius from city hall)
3. any players (architect wise) would be pretty familar with housing and its footprint ( I know I am) and should know what would be able to place where.
4. only rule change was that the housing (seem to be small mainly and some med) can be place more uneven terrain.. (even gullies as I discover yesterday on a friend's location on naboo)
I blame the player... and myself in this case
I placed my hall approximately 150m between a huge cliff and a static npc city no build boundary...
what this means? I'm gonna have a city 900m by 300m
I don't blame the devs... I blame myself for not checking out the terrain better... but oh well... not moving now
Make the best of what life hands you I always say hehe not really but it sounds good in this case

Player's fault.
The Politician should be experienced enough to knowwhere to place a structure so that these probems don't occur. Politician is considered and Elite Profession by the Devs which means the player embarking on this career path should beexperienced enoughto have seen this coming.
Players fault. Even when placing the city hall, as they moved the structure around the grid they would have been able to see unbuildable areas . . . you would think they would have gotten the hint. ![]()
Our side is limiting our building as well, but we knew that from the start. We're right up against a hilllside, and the hill will take about 40% of our city space, plus we've got the mouth of a river at one edge, and the rise into a mountain range at the other end. We're prohibiting building on the hilly terrain (although a couple of houses could fit in some places) and going for the "city in a valley" look.

Players fault and devs fault... mostly players fault
Players fault they should have known better than to place in a spot they hadn't researched... if a primary planet... devs fault... the player could have been rushed due to the caps...
Both. Player should know thier footprints
Dev's should have made building placement easier to deal with.
