Thread: City Status and elections, some questions
Hello all,
I have some questions regarding city status and the effects of elections on that status.
1: If a city already has an established malitia, map registry or whatever due to the previous mayor, and that mayor is ousted by a NOVICE politition (with no boxes in anything) what happens to the malitia etc.? Do they go poof until the new mayor has the proper skill boxes filled?
2: What if the current mayor resigns and surrenders politician? Do you have to wait for the next election to have a new mayor, or can the current mayorship be transferred?
Thanks for any answers or insites in advance!
Plinka might be the only one to answer #1 from experience. On question #2, it seems that other than taxes city events only take place on election day, so if your politician resigns your new mayor cannot take over until election day. This is assuming he wins the election. If the old mayor wins, I'm not sure what will happen if he has dropped Politician.

2. There's no way to resign. The only way to get out of being mayor is to lose an election. Even surrendering politician doesn't work, I've tried.

1. Don't know about militia. I assume the militia remains the same but that's just an assumption. Everything else does indeed remain. The settings keyed to the city, not the mayor. So even though a new mayor can't change the settings without the skills, they still continue to function
This doesn't seem to be thought out very well. If Leetville has a mayor who activates one of the specializations to the tune of 125k per week and is then replaced by a novice mayor, he won't be able to disable the specialization. This doesn't seem right. This type of thing would seriously discourage citizens to vote for anyone else. It could be used as a griefing tool also if the old mayor knew he was going to lose. Just activate all the specializations (close to 800k per week?) and let the new guy win. City will be broke in no time.

Plinka,
Do you know what would happen, if the current mayor has dropped politician and wins the election? What if there is a tie for the election? I highly doubt this happening in my case but just as a what if.

You can only have 1 spec at a time. And that is all the more reason not to vote for the new mayor. GO INCUMBENTS!!!!!!
