i think there is something that needs to be added. i think politicians should be able to turn in faction points for politician xp. you can get combat , crafting, medical, squad leader, and some other profession based skills xp by turning in faction points to the recruiter so why not politician. i would think with a civil war going on that the armies would love to have factioned mayors out there . what a better way to promote your cause then show that you have power in who runs the city.

What has being a politician got to do with factions?

Politicians are meant to establish cities for the majority of people in our galaxy - 75% of people living in Naritus are neutral and having to do with the Galactic Civil War - why should they have mayor who can impose the will of the Empire or Rebellion on them?

We have a democractic system that cannot be influenced by money, power or prejudice.

Let's keep it that way - if you want to buy your way into being a Master Politician, you are not the sort of person who should be a mayor!

Politician exp should not be obtainable via Faction. This isn't a powergaming profession.

then why can every other profession do this?

ummm because we are in the mist of a civil war?you telling me the empire or the rebels wouldnt use its power to get its faction into office and use that office to influence the residence on to the cause?

you saying a mayor cant buy votes or pa's cant use its power to influence votes?

is a mayor not suppose to want to proved his/her city with the stuff the residence want?

Nope, they aren't powergaming. They have a big city, so be it. Big cities grow faster then small ones.

It's really simple.... people who are good Mayors will succeed.

To be a good mayor you will need to:

1. Encourage people to want to move to and stay in your city by providing good leadership and creating a pleasant environment.

2. Keep the city successful by spending the resources appropriately.

How do faction points prove that you can do either of these things?

There is no power-gaming - with 150m radius, believe you me you have to juggle to get people in.

Actually, I am not clear that this is true. The Imperial City of Haven has about 80 individuals in the city. However, they wont all fit within the 150m range, which is limiting our xp gains. Between that the impact of potential xp caps, I am not sure at all the politicians in larger cities are going to gain xp faster than small towns.
