Thread: Regarding Player Cities! *MAYOR*
You have to wait it out until the end of the one week term, I'm afraid. Sorry this happened to you guys, but keep getting votes for yourself, and you'll be mayor and get the XP at the end of the week.
Good Luck ![]()
I don't understand why people hate being ran against. Im in a head to head battle with the incumbant of Vodo-Sisok and it really is the most fun of being a politican. When I loggedit was tied 15-15 votes

I'm being run against as well and don't mind at all. My city currently has a 10 (my PA) - 8 (opp. PA)- 7 (ind.)split between two PAs and independant citizens. I had a talk with the guild leaders of the "opposition" PA and gave 'em a little of the old politicking ![]()
Current vote status is 23-2. Woo! ![]()

The problem with this, is that in the long run, it is bad for the citizens! From what I've read of Plinkas experience, the winning mayor gets 100xp per vote. In her case, she had 24 citizens and all voted for her, and she got 2400xp. I'm sure this is capped to some level, but working under this premise.....if you win the election say 16-15.....you'd only bring home 1600xp. We know that you could have gotten at least 2400xp, had you recieved the proper votes. (no word on what the actual cap is)
This will hold back the Mayors ability to offer services to his/her citizens, ultimately HARMING the citizens. If I was an incumbent mayor, and I am, I would make darn sure that my citizens knew this.
Yea i understand why he left. First priority should be to shoot one person up the tree to get the most services. Blah Blah democracy is just a cute way of saying i put my ego above the welfare of the town. What does mayor let you do...nothing really beyond help facilitate the improvement of the town. You dont become a jedi, dont pass go...dont really get to do anything that fun.
The best system is to get one guy to the max level, then work out a vote splitting arangement to get others who want to be mayor to master...have a novice polotician training program. Once you got a pool of potential mayors sit back secure in the knowledge that no matter who wins, they are qualified for the job and the city structures wont shut-down and the citizens wont suffer due to some battle of the egos. But human nature being what it is, I doubt this would work in the longrun. Would be nice to have dif Government styles for roleplay reasons, ie Dictatorships, Military Legions, republics (Mayor voted by a senate ot town council) etc. Current system forces one way on everyone, and groups who might prefer for whatever reasons to go a different road.
Myself, I plan to hit master, then train others via vote splitting until they can take over and i can retire secure in the knowledge that the town will continue after im done. Dont know if this will happen...but yea if i see some people trying to usurp the donations, hard work and dedication of all involved in founding a city i might just pack my bags and quit too hehe =p ...nah id dig in my heals and fight harder, but i can see why some would throw up their hands say screw it and leave the barbarians to their no services cluster of hutts hehe.
Other fear though, and they really should change this, on Wed or even Thursday morning, from the current design, there is nothing to prevent him from destroying your city hall and your city with it. A Mayor SHOULDN'T have that right - it should take a majority vote of the citizens... like the Mayor starts the destroy process, but unless a majority of citizens agree within - say, 2 days - then the City Hall stays put.
Especially since anyone, including an incumbent Mayor, can see the vote totals. If the vote is aligning up against them, why not pull the plug...
Grrr...
Well I have to say that would be short sighted or the mayor to do such a thing.... but at the same time fi you see that happening cut his ass off at the pass... get another city hall and plant it before he has the opportunity to find or get to his suitable location and plant another of his own.
In my city no one has even atempted to run against me... two reasons for that... first I really am the best of the bunch for the job.. most of my city consists of my guild of which most were recruited by me.. and I have been the PR (politician) man since the inseption of the guild..
I'm currently in the process of inviting another guild to my city... don't know if they come or not... sure hope they do... but they are almost as large as my own guild and hopefully they'll bring a politician with them... kind of like having two different political parties in my little city... I welcome the challenge and revel in the struggle to be pronounced the best man for the job... by campaigning and proving I can be better than others, not by default as it stands now in my city.
