Howdy all,

Ok I've been playing SWG for about 1 week now. And I'm liking everything about this game other than the grind (but with the grind I just play and whatever skills I pick up naturally then thats the way forth).

Anyway I understand that people are upset about the PC cap. But have the designers ever thought about urban sprawl and how that will affect the game? I play on Ahazi and I know if I go to Anchorhead I can get about everything I need. It's small I don't have to run everywhere and the people are cool. It's like a pure market it's great!

Now if we have a multitude of player cities will cities like Anchorhead remain a community hub or will their function as a great meeting place, market and general business centercease to exist. I say look at real current town planning and see what will happen.

Also for a new player it's kinda hard to find out where to go...I picked Tat because I knew there would be a lot of people. A new user faced with a onslaught of cities what will they do? Urban sprawl is real will it be in this game? I mean look at suburbia and malls.....they take away from the city center.

This is a serious discussion...but please flame away if you feel the need to. Thoughts please!

Regards....Mars.

There really is no need to worry about it... urban sprawl...

Everyone is complaining about not getting to place their city and what not but what they fail to understand is that here really is limited space on each planet... very limited...

you will not be able to place two city halls within 1km of each other due to the allowance of city growth which can get to a 450m radius.... also you can't build within 2km of most major cities for whatever reason.... how many cities do people actually expect to have on each planet? certainly more than 10 but how many will really fit even in the best of times?

and to get back to your original question.... everyone will still have to go to some major city when traveling to other planets and all new players must start at a major city... so those aren't going anywhere.

Well limited space, yes. That's obviously going to be an issue. But what you're missing is the facte that maybe only 50 PA's total out of a possible 2-300 PA's on the entire server, were able to setup Player Cities. 50 out od 2-300 PA's?? Thats unfair to the MAJORITY of PA's on the server, completely unacceptable and the only recourse other than to allow for more PA's to build their own Player City is this:

1) Allow for only ONE Player City per Player Allegiance. (the creators have made it so indivdual players can only have 10 lots, they can do the same kind of restriction to PA's)

2) Add more physical space to the existing planets to allow for more Player Cities.

3) Restrict players from being able to mass-create player cities in their name just because they have the resources or crafting ability to do so just to horde planet PC cap. (Ran into such said person on Corellia last night trying to advertise benefits from moving into any of his cities.) Again, allow for individual players to only be able to setup one player city, if they wish to setup another, then the previous city deed should be reclaimed.(which I dont think is possible from I heard, to relaim city deeds that is)

4) Of course there will have to be some sort of limit to the number of player cities eventually. It could not increase in PC number forever. BUT, here is what I propose on that...Allow for at least 75% of all registered PA's to have a player city, no more, no less. BUT, allow for elections to happen in any city where a member of one guild(politician) to be voted in as Mayor of that city in order to replace that current mayor, thus the cities guild ownership switches. If the current guild doesnt have a successful enough politician to win the election then they deserve to lose the city for not upholding the priviledge of running it. Therefore, this creates a chance for all PA's to have a chance at owning a PC without overcrowding the server in the future.
