Politician Archive
Thread: HAHAHA! Why there will be no powergamer politicians.
If only it was like this for ALL professions, including Jedi.
Apparently the only XP a politician can get is from votes.
Two questions:
Why is Politician the only profession given this cap on XP gaining potential?
Why are "gold towns" prohibited, i.e. can not jump from level 1 to level 3 over the course of one week?
"Why is Politician the only profession given this cap on XP gaining potential?"
Ever tried Merchant?
Well you may be correct, but they will be busy players. Trying to figure out where to place things and how to not do taxes etc, is tricky & is a players communication talent.
We barely slid under the cap. Thanks to a few people who sacrficed a large chunk of time & credits for the sake of the game community.
Describe power gamer....
I am a politician.. I'm a merchant soon to be master.. just started it last week...
I have been a master CM am a master DOC although not for long... am a master Medic abviously... I've played this game for about 2 months now... am one of the heads of my guild with over 30 members.. am heavily involved in the community... play no less than 10 hours everyday.
The list goes on but what is a powergamer?
Am I not one because I refuse to be involved in any combat roles??? cause that's what I've been told... although I disagree with that assesment.
And will the cities truly not jump 2 classes in one week? cause that would truly suck... but oh well, I have had much more to complain about in this game.
Also I think you're wrong in your estimate of how long it will take for someone to reach master politician.... you get 100 xp from every citizen in your town... and by my calculations, I can probably squeeze enough houses and citizens in my 150m radius to get almost 10k xp the first week alone... not that it's going to happen... but you see where I'm going with this.

Whitephantom said, "...shortest would be 5 weeks".
Shortest would be 4 weeks.
Considering a "square" is 8m x 8m, and if people packed small houses in, the mayor could theoretically get about:
150m - 90 votes
200m - 160 votes
300m - 365 votes
400m - 651 votes
There is an XP cap similar to all professions. The first tier boxes are 1000xp, 2nd are 2500xp, 3rd 5000xp, and 4th 10000xp. You cannot earn more xp than twice what your next box needs. At the end of week one, 754,324 players cab vote for me, but all I will get is 2000xp. Thats twice what I need for the next box.
I will actually be around 9 weeks till anyone gets to Master:
Week 1 (assume 20+ people) - 2000 XP (1/1/0/0, 0 XP remaining)
Week 2 (assume 50+ people) - 5000 XP (2/1/1/0, 1500 XP remaining)
Week 3 (assume 100 people) - 11500 XP (3/2/2/1, 500 XP remaining)
Week 4 (assume 100 people) - 10500 XP (3/2/2/3, 3000 XP remaining)
Week 5 (assume 100 people) - 13000 XP (3/3/3/3, 3000 XP remaining)
Week 6 (assume 100 people) - 13000 XP (4/3/3/3, 3000 XP remaining)
Week 7 (assume 100 people) - 13000 XP (4/4/3/3, 3000 XP remaining)
Week 8 (assume 100 people) - 13000 XP (4/4/4/3, 3000 XP remaining)
Week 9 (assume 100 people) - 13000 XP (4/4/4/4, 3000 XP remaining)
almost corect Akkori ... once you get a tyr 4 box the cap seems to go away hence at level 4 in music xp it costs 225k xp to go up now when i came back the net day i had well over 450k xp (gota love theed) so once you get tyr 4 in a class it will mostly remove the limit wich is then i believ set to 900k baced on a combat classes maximum. so the progress would be like this ...
Week 1 (assume 20+ people) - 2000 XP (1/1/0/0, 0 XP remaining)
Week 2 (assume 50+ people) - 5000 XP (2/1/1/1, 500 XP remaining)
Week 3 (assume 100+ people) - 10000 XP (3/2/2/1, 0 XP remaining)
Week 4 (assume 200+ people) -20000 XP (4/3/3/1, 0 XP remaining)
Week5 (assume375+ people) -37500 XP (4/4/4/4, 0 XP remaining)
the you just master it
i do not believ that there is a maximum of 100 people to a city and as it is such a limited thing on a server i dont think 200 people by week 4 is that bad of an assumption since there will be so few citys out there. it might be hard to get 375 but by that time one more week wont kill you ![]()
p.s. how do you have it not double space? put it in note pad first?
Except that you're forgetting that after next week, there will be hundreds of little po-dunk cities, as the limit on outposts will be removed.
When we were still looking at a cap, then those small guilds of only 12 to 20 people were not going to be able to have their 'own' city, so they were most likely going to join up with someone who did get a city down, helping that city to grow. Now, they can still go have their own city, albeit trapped at the outpost level until the caps are raised.
I think we'll only see two or three cities hit the metropolis level in the two months... about 1% of the 130 cities out there that could. Making level 4 will be tough for most of them.
