Thread: Politician going to create a PvP imbalance?
lol I'm just kidding all. I want to see how many of you actually thought that I was serious about that...
But, in this thread, I want to know a few things.
1.) Currently, what problems do you have with the profession?
2.) Do you think that the fees for keeping cities up are too high?
3.) Do you think that Politician XP will be too hard to get?
4.) What measures, if you are elected mayor, will you use to get cash for the high fees besides taxation?
5.) And finally, what is your militia going to be made up of? =)
1.. My only problems with the proffesion lie in the fact that I can only get xp once a week.. there really should be a fix for this... that my xp as the mayor only comes from votes, but that other politicians living in my city have gained xp with out even running in the race... hey they got free xp.. more power to them but why is mine limited to all my votes minus 1... these are all pretty basic greifs though.. nothing major at this point
2.. currently at level 2 the fees don't seem all that high... but I wasn't able to max out city services... no gardens, bank, streetlights... etc. but from what I did put up the taxes seem to be able to pay for most of our services.
3.. see #1
4.. this is a retorical question imo.. aside from me and my guild paying for the city services or begging for others to donate into the treasury, there really is no other way.. I mean I'm sure I can throw a party every week and charge admition... but at the same time that will be my work and the funds mine... hence I'm still supplying the city with personal funds.
5.. sorry no ,ilitia yet.. I got jacked out of 100xp and wasn't able to do militia or customization..
arg when did the italics come on lol
hope this gives you some quick insite

How do politicians get XP without running in the race?

1. I don't have any problems so far. Sieging is an issue that needs to be dealt with in a different way (because a mayor could lock city hall and never let anyone run against him or vote for anyone else).
2. No, not at all. I tax the citizens and many of them have said that the tax is REALLY low and I could raise it if it isn't covering cost. It is more than covering cost though, so I won't. (1200 income tax and 20% property tax [explanation of how taxes work in the Player Cities FAQ])
3. Honestly, no. Cities shouldn't be able to become metropolises in a week because someone can grind. When cities become somewhat larger (like 50 citizens or so) xp will start rolling in quickly.
4.I have city harvestors that I run. I sell the resources and use the cash to pay thier maintenance and the rest to help pay for things. Other than that, I've had donations from citizens.
5. To keep being in the militia cool, I only let 20% of my citizens join. All appointments only last a week, so everyone can get a shot at it. It seems to work for people. This also let's me cycle out people that I may not like being in the militia without making them look bad with anyone or get angy at me.
