Ok, So I read what the Holocron in game said about minimum citizens (5) I read what the Player City FAQ In this board said (10) and I read what the player city manual on the main SWG page said (10)... Now, the city maintenance terminal shows I have 9 citizens.. this is not in red as it was before, and I did get a message saying the Galactic something-or-other as approved me for a city. But everything I read says I have different requirements to meet. I was told before that right now its 5, but the patch today will up it to 10 and I then have 3 days to find another citizen... But I dont see any info on the web page about a patch. Im confused, nothing seems to be organinized.. Everyone says something different, its really starting to bug me. I dont wanna loose my expensive city hall... So what number is it 5 or 10? And what are the special conditions, if any... cause im really lost

play it on the safe side and go with 10. That way if it IS 10 then you're set, but if it's only 5 then you're ahead of the game

it's 10... then you'll need 20 by next update. Sorry. Then 35 then 55 and then basically you need to join forces with another city unless your PA has 60+ members which many meet about half way like mine, 30+. Which I believe being demoted for is stupid, but I've said this every post now lol. Just advertise an recruit a lot.

The requirment for n outpost WILL be 10. When we don't know. It is suppose to be a hotfix any day now. My assumption is it will just go into effect when your city passes its first week. So yes, atm it is 5 but it will be 10. Every city requirment will go up 5 citizens. The reason it hasnt gone poof yet is because the 10 requirment hasn't been implemented YET. So get your 10 before its too late.

I have two placing houses tonight, and 6 more emails about people wanting to join our city that i have to respond to because our arch. have not finished the crafting (we are offering free small houses the first two weeks) ... But now on to this demotion thing.. say our city never gets bigger then 21 citizen.. after the third week (just my guess) and we dont have the 35 citizens needed, do we drop a rank back to the start (outpost, since we were only rank one) or does it work that if i have 21 citizens, loose two (down to 19) and dont get em back, only then will i drop a rank? Sorry i sound dumb, i have read up on this.. but its all so confusing how they word it, and how everyone on the boards word everything =[

You don't have to grow, and you won't be demoted as long as you meet the requirement for that level. Here is my understanding

Some time this week, proabably tomorrow morning, they are doing a hotfix of a lot of bugs.

1.They are removing the planetary cap on Level 1 Outposts. The city cap that is in effect is still in effect but is moved to Level 2 Villages.

2. They are increasing the population requirements for each level of city Level 1 is 10, Level 2 is 20, Level 3 is 35, Level 4 is 55, Level 5 is 85.

3. Outposts can no longer collect taxes. Not sure if outposts still have elections or not. Thunderheart has contradiceted himself once or twice.

If you get to 21 citizens by the end of your first cycle, should be Thursday, you will grow to Level 2 city. However if you do not make it by this Thursday you are not guaranteed to grow in the future. Once they make it so that outposts don't count against the cap there will be a lot more outposts, but there can still only be 10 Villages. So when your cycle ends and you are checked for growth you have to meet 2 criteria instaed of 1

1. Do you meet the population requirements to grow to village?

2. Is there an open slot (fewere than 10 villages exist)?

If there are already 10 villages you will not grow.

Thanks alot Mkappus .. this helped alot. To be honest. Im not afraid of not being able to grow. No one comes to Talus (atleast not on my server) and there are very few cities (i think we are one of 4 or 5) ... We hope to join with a couple other guilds there to form a huge city, and hopefully bring life back to that planet.. .cause its a ghost town =] .. but thanks, your help was really appreciated!
