Remove it.

Last time I checked, nobody in RL "polictics" gets votes that are not cast. I can appreciate the desire to help policians gain XP, but asking somebody to log in, or visit their city once a week to support somebody isn't asking for much.

Every REAL politician should be in favor of this. Those 5 people. 50 structure cities abviously will 1-star me.

Since my vote is recycled every week, even if I do not vote, shouldn't my harvester automatically switch to the next available resource for me?

Getting something for doing nothing is one of the problems of this game.

Did you not follow the 2000 US Presidential Election?

My biggest complaint aboutrunning unopposed is there's no way to check how many votes I've gotten.. Add into it the fact that you can vote multiple times and they all say they're counted.. What theheck is that all about?

I whole heartedly agree. While it is convenient to not have to vote it gives challengers no real chance to win or even receive any decent xp.

I know we get a vote for each citizen. Do we know if we voted multiple times if it will count? I'm sure they caught that in the Test Center but we know what happens when they go to the live servers

You can only vote once. if you vote again, it deletes the original vote and casts a new one. I think it should be locked. Once you cast your vote, your done. As of now, they can vote for you, then change it at the last minute if they want. Once you cast your vote, you should have to stick with that vote until the next week. As for the AFK vote, I also agree that it should not count unless you go to the guild hall and vote. I too need the Xp just like everyone else, but I also want things to be better for the RP community. This is after all an RPG.

Click on the radial menu for the voting terminal, click on the Mayoral Race (or whatever it's called) icon, and release.. do not go to the submenu. This will tell you the current vote standings.

You're welcome =)

The only problem I see with that is what about late entries to the race? If someone lists themselves as a candidate on Thursday and I voted on Wed I wouldn't be able to vote for that person.

Not saying your idea isn't good. It is. But what would have to be done is this. A candidate can list themselveson days 1,2,3. No voting is allowed on those days. Then voting is allowed on days 4,5,6,7 and noone can list as a candidate on those days.

Actually if you want in office, get youself on the ballot before the voting day. The next week everyone could vote for you. If you wait till the last day, you probably wont get many votes that week, but you will be there for the full next week. That is all that has to be done. Just lock the votes so they can not be changed. Then you can cote the next week for the new canidate if you want to.

It's not an AFK vote. It's a "I'm on vacation" vote. And a "My computer died" vote. And a "My ISP is down" vote. "I'm in the hospital." "I can't get to the computer." "My dog ate my hard drive."

There are hundreds of reasons why a citizen may not be able vote and this assures the mayor that they will get that experience duing the election.

Look at voter turn out in real life. Do you really want only 60% of the experience you could have had?

People don't need one more piece of drudgery in their lives. You can't force them to vote and if they don't have to they won't.

But you can bet that if they feel strongly enough to vote against you, they will. Forcing them to have to vote for you when you've already been elected though, won't get you votes.

In real life people have a day to vote unless it is by absentee ballot ( actually less than a day ), here we have a week. I think a week is enough time for people to actually vote, and if they are not interested enough to make that effort then thier vote should not be counted.

Does the list of candidates stay the same after a vote? I would think that it would reset and just automatically put the incumbent on the list. Everyone else would have to re-register.

If the person only has to lists once and then is always on the ballot. Couldn't they list themselves in town A, move and list in Town B, etc. Won't get elected probably but maybe a couple votes here and there for the XP. But what if they did get elected? Mayor of multiple towns?
