Thread: Mission Terminal Placement
Just a heads up to other mayor's out there.When you use the /installmissionterminal command a window comes up asking what type of terminal you want. It's explanation of the placement isnt very clear so remember that the terminal will face the same direction that you are facing. So if you want it up againist a wall: you would run up to the wall, then TURN AROUND to faceAWAY from the wall. This way your terminal will face outward and you wont waste 1k.
Happy terminal placing!
Thanks for the heads-up - this is the kind of post that I like to see!
Yours,
Also, there seem to be a few issues with the Mission List text. When you search the details of a mission, it often shows a different mission type than the one you are looking for(BH -> Dancer, etc.).
Do not be alarmed! You will still get the mission you had intended to get!

Both! Mission terminals can be placed inside any civic building. This does not include cantinas, theaters, or hospitals, since these are privately owned buildings.

Oh ... setting terminals costs 1k in addition to the weekly pay? Well then I must have spent over 20k yesterday/today ... since there is no rotation or move command, and the artisan terminal for example spawns in a totaly different fasion than the others (it spawns about a meter in front of you instead of "on top" of you) I had to pick up the terminals several times ...
Oh well ... thanks for the money sink ... you definitly hit the right one here (Musician + Politician
)
Ok...I think I'm being a dimwit, or maybe it's because I got up 4 hours early to do this. I have the skill trained. Can someone please explain 1) where the terminal comes from (the 2 I have don't seem to be the right kind), and where you find the placement command?
A step by step guide on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
Well ... all the new commands you get as mayor (and all other commands) can be looked at by hitting ctrl+A ... go to "other" ... there you will see some mayor commands (amongst a bunch of others
)
To set a mission terminal ... go to the place you want to have it ... look in the direction you want it facing .. then type /installm (or /installmissionterminal
) you geht a row of choices ... chose and ok ...
But be aware, artisan terminals spawn a meter in front of you ... other terminals spawn exactlly where you're standing
Thank you.
I was hurrying to try to get this done before the server shut down and flat forgot that command.
If the artisan terminal spawns a meter in front of you, how the heck do you get it up against a wall? I'm assuming that if my back is flat against the wall the other terminals are going to drop right against the wall.
I'm unsure about this myself ... my sollution was to not row the terminals up at the wall, but to have them a bit on edge ... 2 at a time with a Lamp in the middle ... somewhat like this :

It apprears right on top of you, not a meter in front of you.

Is it not possible to use the '/movefurniture' command on mission terminals, like you would on a normal object?
