Rori is a very wet planet. You can't walk 1k meters without crossing a lake or river. Our town is in a beautiful location (only place to put a huge city hall for 2k meters). Our mayor didn't know the city was going to be circled around the hall until it was already placed (in the rush of getting a city at all) and Yup I'm thinking this lake is going to cut into our potential for growth. It is only 50 meters or so north behind city hall. City can expand east and west 450 meters, south about 300 meters before we run into more difficult terrain. Any one know how to calculate number of houses we can get? So far the small houses seem to pack pretty tight but what about a cantina or a shuttleport? I'm thinking there may be no room left to put them once we get the required citizens. Anyone else have this problem? (p.s. I'm not the mayor I'm just wondering).

I've been doing some measurements for our city to keep to the plan we have for building placement, and so far it has been fairly accurate on the distances for the outpost and village size. I did the same measurement for the 300m radius and I calculate that we can get over 100 medium houses in that space. Currently we have 50 medium and the cantina comfortably in our 200m of space with room for more buildings still. 95% of our houses are east and west of the City hall with 50m approx in front and behind it for some of the bigger civic structures. I'd say you all will be fine because 450m is alot of space.
