Does anyone have any plans to place one of these, and if so what type of events are you going to do in it? I just don't see the purpose.

i plan to put on plays.

one person types up the script and sends it off to the actors. they cut and paste it into a macro and add a couple of emotes. everyone gets together, does a run through and set a night for the play. voila

it could also be used as a combat ring, or as place wherelectures on different subjects (best way to kill a Nightsister, easiest way to earn a couple bucks)

Iinterested in testing to see if vendors can be placed on the Theatre. I'm assuming at this point that they cannot, just like they cannot be placed on a house porch or rooftop patio.

Be nice if you could use it as a coliseum...

I was thinking along the same lines. It's a pretty cool structure. We had an event in our city hall last Saturday and you simply can't see the action on stage from the main floor.

Plays, comedy nights, duel competitions.

Hrm. Am I confused? I thought that the Theatre was just a player owned structure that could only be placed in the appropriate city, much like a cantina. And in cantinas, you can place vendors =)

Yes, in a Cantina you can place a vendor... but a Theatre is all outdoors; there is not interior. So, like the roof of a house or the porch, I have to believe it's not vendor-enabled. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope that they change how that works, because right now theaters are pretty ugly. I'd like to be able to place some couch seating, and be able to place stes on the stage as well.

Can anyone confirm why they changed the theatres on TC? They were listed as city structures placeable at level 4, now I hear from the dancer correspondent that they are player structures. CIties are already having a hard time trying to find enough masters willing to give up 5 lots to place a cantina. So why make theatres have the same requirement? And how many lots does the theatre take up now? Did they fix it so healing works everywhere or is it bugged and still only works backstage? Thanks for any answers.

I don't remember them ever being "city structures" ... I always read they are player owned ...

They take up 3 lots as far as I know ... luckily we have a very dedicated master musician with 8 lots to spare ... we just set our cantina and in a week and 20 hours we will set our theater and introduce it with a nice comedic play of how we decided to build our city

If they fixed the healing bug, I can't say ... my guess is no, it will take some months to fix it like most things do ... but for us it's not about healing, it's just about entertaining and RPing

Ok that sucks, the cantina takes up 5 lots and has no storeroom, but the theatre is only 3 and so is the hospital and they both get one? Ugh. So what pofessions can drop the theatre? Because I can't see a master chef being able to, so maybe only dancer and musician? Any word on maint rate? Thanks for the info.
