Thread: IDEA: Solution To City Cap

Ok, this hit me a minute or so ago, so here it is:

One of the reasons many reasons given of why there is a City Cap was that for each City Hall placed, there were 250 more inventory spaces 'spots' added in the database (TH gave more reasons such as urban-sprwals poping up, but for this topic, we'll throw those to the wind for now).

My idea is that if we should desire the City Cap to be raised some more, we might be able to make some consesions-

My plan is that for all new City Halls placed, they would only have 50 inventory slots instead of 250. This would only be a temporary fix, and it would eventaully be raised back up to normal when the DB could handle it.

This would allow the Devs to raise the cap some more without much DB troubles IMO.

This would also not apply to existing City Halls, only ones built after the patch day.

For example, the patch on the TC raised the amount of cities on Naboo to 20 total, thats 10 new cities, each with 250 inventory spaces. If this was reduced to 50, it would allow 50 new Outposts to be built in the (near) same amount of DB space. Now I dont think Naboo needs 60 PBC's, but this is just an example.

Let me know what you think!

I don't think the 250 item spaces per city hall is the real problem, or they'd have put a limit on large houses and PA Halls long ago.

The reason they capped it was so the servers would stay a lil bit stabler, instead of crashing every 5 seconds because we have 100 cities on each planet. a lil much right? Ok.
