Thread: Constellation Militia Griefing and Exploiting....

It seems popular opinion is on the side of a mayor using /setprivacy on a City Hall for nearly 3 days AND with a militia force using /cityban on an entire guild. These things have been beat to death and nobody on either side will ever change their opinion. The simple fact is that SWG allows so many ways to play the game that each person has their own interpreation of the "rules".

The first disturbing thing remaining is the cold-blooded killing of current citizens in the city while at their homes. The Constellation Militia simply killed a citizen for no reason and BOTH were Rebels, how messed up is that?

The second disturbing thing remaining is the use of /cityban to exploit Politician XP. Let me explain; we all know that you can /cityban a person before they become a citizen, which makes sense. But after the /cityban person becomes a citizen then their vote is locked into the current Mayor. This creates an exploitable way for a Politician Character to artificially inflate his XP along with putting a strangle hold on the Dev designed voting power stuggle for a city.

I am fully aware that a % of people believe we are griefing these poor defenseless people, but the Devs have made it clear from weeks before launch that a new facet of the game is being added via the Political Struggle for Player Cities. And for those of you thinking we are destroying their "hard work", you obviously are not on our server to see this "hard work". GotZ said they had a second city location or would move to another planet, so I have repeatedly offered them a free City Hall deed along with the credits to move their houses. (no need for other deeds as they haven't place ONE SINGLE city structure or decoration) The GotZ guild hall isn't in Constellation, but the soon to be Dark Haven City has 3 guild halls and nearly 20 factories to go along with the houses that have been their for 4 months.

The answer to all of this is simply to VOTE. If GotZ has more citizens, then they win each week. If the other 4-5 PA's outside have more votes, then they win for that week. BUT PLEASE don't let the facts of using known exploits and means to artificially increase ones XP get in the way of the game mechanics wrote by the Devs. All this other BS needs to stop and let us vote, which /cityban is not letting us do right now.

I think that this will be fixed soon and then it will be over - but this is really no different to what happens in real dictatorships when they lock people out of the voting booths!

One thing is for certain - they cannot win and you will get your way in due course!

Well, I agree with Jaspor on this. I don't believe using /cityban is exploiting. If he had privacy set on the city hall using /setprivacy then yes he is exploiting. But using /cityban to keep hostile people out of his city is his own right, even if they have placed a house in or around his city. He's using a viable command and tactic to defend his city.

Sorry Plinka for making my post much longer than it should have been. I did post the same thing on Chilastra after here as more of it ended up being non-politician related.

BUT, What about the use of /cityban or any other exploit on current citizens so they can't change their VOTE? This is the place to discuss a character using extremely questionable means to artificially inflate his character's POLITICIANXP.

Sorry for the other BS and that will stay on the Chilastra Forum

Actually, its the place to discuss the issue of commands not working properly, not the players who are using them. There's a difference.
