Thread: Terrain Change killing our city!
I am postingto see if this happened to anyone else.
We built our city on a large plateau. We centered our city hall as best as possible, given the uneven terrain, and planned on where all our civic buildings would go. We had plenty of room to grownorth and west of the city hall - it was clear for almost 600m in that entire quadrant. For 3 weeks, the terrain featuresstayed the same.
Then either today or yesterday, poof, all space north and west, beyond our 200m village limit, became a ravine. I don't thinkit a coincidence that the homes we built all the way to our village boundary, now make the boundary of that ravine.
This is driving us mad. Our village grows to a town tonight andall of our plans are out the window. In fact, it will now be nearly impossible to grow to metropolis size and much more difficult to get to city.
Has anyone encountered this? We opened a ticket for this issue, but given the Holiday weekend, I doubt we will get a quick response.
Is this kind of terrain change normal? We are talking of a ravine 300m x 200m x 60m deep. Nothing has spawned to create this change, that we can tell.
If significant terrain change is a known 'feature' of this game, then hey, we will have to adjust and do our best to deal with it.
If anyone else has experienced this before, please post and let us know. We'd greatly appreciate it.
While it hasn't happened to us, nor have I heard of it happening yet in the radius of a city, I have heard of it happening in the past where HUGE terrain features will fluxuate. One person mentioned a mountain growing behind his house overnight once. I still think you did the right thing by opening a ticket, though.
