Here's the scenario:

One player gets Master Politician to give the Town everything it needs then all future Politicians stay as Novice and saves their skill points as they have no need to level as the town has everything form the fist (Master) politician.

So what's the point of leveling a politician if the Town is allready developed? )Or am I missing something?

You can go campaign in other towns and try and win the election over. If you have better ideas then the existing politician you could take it over.

Why would a city replace a Master Politician with a Novice one?

And, obviously, there will be new features, new benefits and new activities for mayors, so a city would be taking a risk if they replaced a Master with a Novice - especially with caps in place.

More importantly, a city should be a living, breathing, growing place - it is just stays the same, surely people there will get bored and it will just die?

However, someone whodid manage toreplacea Master would obviously want to level so that they could stamp their authority on the city... Otherwise what would be the point of becoming mayor in the first place?

Continuing on the same scenario I see these as the possible problems:

  1. A large group of people leaves the town, town loses one level and loses some city buildings. Town gains new people but the new novice mayor cannot replace the high level buildings.

  2. Town get ecenomical problems and cannot pay maintenance and loses some civic buildings and/or decorations. Town economy recovers, but the new novice mayor cannot replace what was lost.

The mayors skills is an insurance that is anything goes wrong, he can replace it and/or fix it. A novice can only fix the zoning rights if they go wrong. Not very comforting.

Hmm yeah I see the points made.

The scenario I am in is that we have our town and we are leveling one person to Master then that person and one other are sharing the Mayoral role. I just didnt see the point of the second person being Master too.

It's gonna take months for the first person to level to master.

Because if you're master and a novice takes over the town all the structures in town that they don't have skills for will become invalid I believe.

they dont' become invalid, but they also don't gain specializations.

If your city is fine and doesn't want speacializations. Getting novice poltician seems like a good idea. however, the Master Politician title is kinda like the master pikeman title. Just having it garners respect.

this is what ive been saying for a while. i can't afford a town hall and the cap's will keep me from getting one for now. so how does a novice politician get a chance to rule a town when a master who can do everything they need in town. is already there???????

Seems to me then a Master should have something they can do for the town that less cannot. Something that makes it worth the time and having him/her. I think they are trying to do that with ability to have research/manufacturing and medical/entertainment but I think they need something better then that.

cities run by master politicians can have two specializations. that's unique to master politicians. replacing your master with a lesser politician costs you that second specialization, i believe.
