Thread: Taking Bets On Second Land Rush
Well, the Devs said they were surprised that people hit the cap in the time they did the first time, now my question is, since we all are already trained as politicians and we all own deeds, how long will it take once the servers come back up after the next patch?
Please dont turn this into a flame about the Devs or the City Cap.
My Bet:3 minutes
Not sure. Some people, me included, saw the chance to get locked at outpost level was important, since the first race winners took the advanced slots already. So we moved to a more remote planet. People who want to race again will get screwed doubly: they'll get stuck as an outpost, and if they want to move, it'll be full elsewhere too, since older cities will have evolved too.
As I said, the original caps screwed the system forever. No amount of balancing will fix that now. My city is one week late but it's not so important as the planet we chose still isn't full. But it will be when people who lost the race WILL have to move...for nothing, really. Large groups of players got screwed. My PA nearly fell apart, and would have massively quit if we hadn't picked a new planet. Our only hope now is that SE will make the space lanes equal to all, since starter planets are heavily favored in this aspect. (Which is why everybody wanted to be there anyway).
I think it might be a bit longer than that, based on my own experience. When the servers come up following a patch, it seems to let people on in "waves." I think -- on Wanderhome -- I got on about ten minutes after my game software indicated the server was online and accessible. Then, another three-four minutes *after* I was on to get Politician XP (I logged in Bestine) then the shuttle wait/run back to our locale west of Mos Eisley. Another sixty or so seconds to do the final assemble on the city hall *then* I was able to place it.
Even if people are sitting on deeds, I think that it will take longer than three minutes to hit new/expanded caps ![]()
I think it will depend on the server. Bria, Starsider, Chillastra, yep, there's going to be another psycho rush. I think the quiet servers like Scylla will be all right.

Hehe, you're like the only three who ever hit medium these days.
I know that there's a couple more in there, but you know what I mean.
Granted, Scylla had its rush the first time around, but I think there were only a few who didn't get their cities who haven't moved by now, and I know there's only afew on the outer planets each that have any chance in hell of making anything of themselves.

All our "big name" guilds got their core planet cities: Pax Imperius on Corellia, KOTOR on Naboo, and DSS on Tatooine, to name the ones you'd know from PR days. I didn't mean that outer planet cities couldn't survive, nononono, there's several on Scylla that will. There's also several that won't, simply because our server just really doesn't have the people to support them. We've had several towns poof already, and a few more that are just hanging on because they got server exchanges going on.

In all honesty, the people that want their city hall will have their deed in their inv and be sitting on their locale just waiting to log in and drop. So the cap may be hit within a few mins or it may not be hit for hours. It depends on people's moods. I am getting a city on Corellia or not one at all. Not because starter worlds are cheaper to travel too or any of that crap but for a roleplay thing. I love Corellia (even the Corellian trilogy which wasn't exactly a great EU book) and I love the spot that we have picked out. It is atop a plateau and is really just a beautiful spot to have a city so why move? I'll be 100 meters from the spot (in a house so I dont die while logging in) and have it dropped as soon as bothanly possible.
I just don't get why they screwed over the uncivilized worlds, I mean your cap actually shrinks as far as shuttleports go.
primary planets 5 minutes... as mention it'll be entirely based on who logs in first...
advanced... well since our planet hasn't even reached half the current cap i think it'll be some time coming...
They're going to bump the cap on the next major patch.
