Thread: Cities at war (a concept)
Anyone thought about allowing cities to be at war with each other? This could definetly give the militia more of a role in the city and has great PvP and roleplaying benefits.
Here's how I would envision it:
Part I:
- the mayor of a city can declare war on another city, that city must have its mayor accept the declaration before war is enabled between the cities
- once war has been declared and accepted, each side's militia members will become flagged as enemy towards each other
- rule: members of waring cities cannot clone in their enemy's city cloning facility
Nice and simple and follows in line with the rules of Player Associations declaring war. Now to liven it up a bit, because let's face it the GCW and factions just isn't cutting it, I would add the following:
Part II:
(note: you may recognize this is being similar to UO's factions or even capture-the-flag)
- add a new item, the "town stone" or whatever, to the city hall; this becomes the symbol of the town
- it will be the job of each town's militia then to 1) defend their town stone, and 2) steal the town stone of the opposing town.
- the town stone cannot be destroyed, or kept on a player if they go LD or logout; if a player were to do so the stone will automatically transfer to the nearest militia member (regardless of side).
- if a player were to recover their town's stone, by killing the flagged enemy militia player, they must then return it to their town hall
- upon successfully stealing the town stone of an opposing city (via slicing the security defenses of the city hall), and taking the stone to your own city hall and placing it with your own stone, and defending it for a full 24 hours you town will be declared the victor of this battle
- at the end of a week, the side with the most battles won will be declared the winner for that week
- whichever side wins will incur a reduction in town maintenance costs for the following week
- the loser will incur an increase in maintenance fees for the following week
- whichever side wins will incur a reduction in town maintenance costs for the following week
Part II is obviously a little bit more ambitious than Part I and may need a bit more thought, but the base is there.
Do you like Part I and Part II, or only Part I? Let's hear your thoughts, comments, suggestions?
