I am amazed at how many people are asking for a different kind of governments. One post listed the ability to choose from 5 types. Seems to me you all are asking for way too much. These systems of government sound incredibly hard to code. I think we need militia ranks so that we can control who gets zoning rights, but asking for city councils, constitutions, I don't see the point.

I agree that the politician skill tree should really just be called city manager right now. There isn't really any politics. But I also don't us getting any complex systems put in place to make politician more exciting.

I'd have to say of all those I've seen the only one I agree with is the City Council idea. Having the ability to SELECT who you delegate the ability to grant zoning rights to on a more limited scale is FAR better than having anyone in your militia have that ability. If you have a large city, you're going to require a large militia.

I can safely say, knowing the people in my city, I don't honestly want my entire militia to have the ability to grant Zoning rights. In fact, I don't really want ANYONE in my militia to have that ability, but I'd REALLY like to give my architect and master artisan that ability, but I don't want them in my militia.

And having a "city council" is not that hard to code. You take the ability to grant zoning rights away from the militia members, and have another group that you set up, just like the militia, but the only ability they get for it is "/grantZoningrights", and maybe the ability to place some limited structures like gardens or something. Give them politician XP for being on the council, like maybe 10% of the XP the elected mayor that appoints them to the council gets, and so on.

Simple, feasible, and makes a WHOLE lot more sense than having the military delegate who can build in the city.
