We did this over the weekend, so if anyone REALLY wants to move to a new location without fearing that someone will happen to put down a hall while you make the run to the new location Mr Mayor, here's how to do it. It does require another politician, but this way I got to keep mayorhood instead of having the other guy be mayor for a week until the vote.

Just use the /transferStructure command to give your current city hall to the new politician. You'll stay mayor, but the new guy will be able to destroy the hall.

Then you run to the new location, grab your new deed, and say GO. Here are a few tips though:

1) remember to clear out the whole 150m radius of all spawns. We made the mistake of having 15 people standing around waiting, so within 2 minutes there were two spawns in the way that we had to wipe out quickly.

2) Don't forget to take out any maintenance you put in the old hall. The new owner can't do it, and I lost 100k that way! Ouch.

3) Have fireworks ready. For some reason my show package simply wouldn't launch afterwards. luckily others had some.

That's all there is to it. Tell the new building owner to destroy the old hall and you immediately place the new one. Don't bother trying to get an overhead view beforehand. It'll say you're already a mayor and can't place a new hall.

This appears, at least to me, to be an exploit of the /transferStructure command.

Why would this be an exploit? You are supposed to be able to use the command to transfer ownership of any structure, right? The person still has to be a politician, and they don't become mayor or anything.

We moved so we could merge with a group that didn't get in before the cap was hit. Now instead of 7 citizens (which would have been fine before) we have 21 We'll be level 2 next week, only a few days behind the other big groups.
