Thread: Population Fluctuations ? for Test Center Mayors...?
I'm not sure if this has come up or not, but I figure it will soon enough, especially as people come and go from the game.
Our city populations will no doubt fluctuate. Some people will move in, others will move out, or may even close their accounts. Now, as soon as we hit that shuttleport limit, you know darn well that each and every one of us will be plopping down a shuttleport (or any other structure that's limited by population). I forget the population number required for a shuttle (I know, I know...sacrilege!), but let's say it's 50. So, let's say on election day we hit 50 people exactly. On that same day we'll all be plunking down our shuttleport.
Now, horror of horrors, let's say that two people decide to leave our city to live elsewhere. So now we've got 48 people and no longer qualify for a shuttleport. At this point, I'm sure we cannot place another shuttleport (which is another question, can we place multiple shuttleports in our cities?). BUT...
What will happen to our existing shuttleport? Does it now remain as a permanent part of our city, or will it go poof the way a PA does if it drops below the necessary number? Do we have a week to shanghai two people into declaring citizenship?
I'm thinking that if it does go poof, then some of us with less than stable populations (and questionable bank accounts) might want to spare the expense (and possible embarrassment) of having our shuttleport confiscated over night, and place it when we grow well into the needed size.
So, after all that, does anyone know? Has anyone one TC tried to shrink a city down to see what would happen to these size-dependent structures?
Thanks!
If you have your shuttle and you drop below your population, at your next city event your shuttle will become inoperable and you'll be sent a notice. You'll have one week to get that population problem fixed or have the structure destroyed.
