Thread: Are caps being lifted or not?

Nearly nine months prior to the release of the game a vision was born. And that vision was Haven. Afters months of building the website (http://www.havenswg.com) and even more months of sharing the dream we were all estatic with the realization that our mutual goals will be obtained.

When it was told to us that Player Cities were put on hold, sure we were disappointed, but we were told by the devs to sit tight. The recommended us to continue living as a city and place your buildings next to each other. And when finally cities will be released, we could drop the Player City on our already existing establishment.

So with this blessing from the devs we continued our good work and developed more with the hopes that at last we will become recognized as a real city.

The day finally arrived. November 13. We were all thrilled. Immediately are city's architect began work on the City Hall. She worked hard and absorbed numerous resources. Sure we could have just bought one for 800,000 credits, but why exhaust the city's funds if we didn't have too. (Mind you, we had no idea there was a cap).

After the completion of the City Hall, we rejoiced. Gathering as a group we ran out to our planned site. And there we huddled together to witness the birth of the City of Haven.

But the birth turned out to resemble more of an abortion when the message scrolled across the screen indicating that there was a max of cities on this planet already. Almost in denial, we tried again. And again. And again. Of course this had to be a bug, we all thought.

Why would the devs promise us something only to have it stripped from us on such an exciting day?

Then we find out about player city caps.

My feelings?

I'm upset. If player city's would be so rare in the game, then why are they so easy to achieve. It appears one would have an easier time obtaining the FS slot, than he would becoming a mayor of a city.

I can continue my expression of them, but I feel that it might only cause more damage than necessary.

I would just like to see either the caps lifted. So when is that going to happen?

This is no longer a game in BETA testing. This is the real thing. And if I'm going to be paying money for something, I'd like to see things implemented that work for the best of everyone and not just a few. Perhaps there is a good explanation but I have yet to see it.

With 250,000 customers you don't just implement something without first asking for their reaction on it.

My guild had a similar issue happen. I spent numerous hours collecting resources to build the deed and shuttle hopped, then ran for quite some time to our guild hall and member house site to setup the city hall only to discover the planet was capped. My opinion on this? only that it is the biggest crock of **** I have ever seen. I could not be more dissapointed in this turn of events. I can only hope and pray the devs remove the cap, I mean, seriously, with as many PA's as there are on each server, wth were they thinking only allowing 10 cities per planet??????????????????????????? That is insane, absolute BS. We need more guilds to speak up on this matter, because I am sure only maybe 50 PA's out of 200 or so on each server were able to setup a city.

Myself and my guild has had the same thing happen to us.. We had everything planned for our little city, I did know of the cap though but thought that it couldnt be that quick the cap was reached.. I guess I was wrong since Im a mayor without a city..

Well, according to TH, the cap wasn't likely to be reached anyway. We were lied to in order to keep the money flowing.

Best way to deal with the tall guys is to give them incentives to lick the ground. And dont look down on me that way youre not THAT taller.

Yeah, the worst part is that the people that camped and got the spots are going to say 'no, it's good to have a cap so it doesn't get too many cities on each planet' and etc......that's what sucks the most.

They said they'll open more spots later, but by then, our cities will fall behind all the rest.

Well i do agree that they have to keep the lag in check, and when they do release the caps it will only take you guys 4 weeks for your cities to catch up. Basically, if you werent prepped for the release, then dont blame the people who had their stuff togethor and got down in time.

Caps are going to be lifted eventually, TH said possibly BY next publish because they can hotfix it to raise the cap. He actually said lift but I don't know if he meant lift as in gone or lift as in raised.

Not quite sure how you can say that SOE lied on speculation though. Its like saying "I think its going to rain today" and then at the end of the day telling that person they lied because it didn't rain. And Players are far more unpredictable than the weather.
