From the Friday Feature....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Citizen Tax - A non mandatory tax charged to every citizen of the city. The money is automatically removed from the player's bank. If the player can't pay, the mayor is notified of the delinquent payment

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Could anyone please Clarify this for me, Non-Mandatory and Automatically removed sound a little contraditing..

Anyone know which?

Pretty simple man.

Non Mandatory means the Mayor decides whether or not to have the tax

Automatically Removed means that if he does put in the tax then it just gets taken out of ur bank annually.

The mayor doesn't have to instate a citizenship tax but if the mayor chooses to do so then the city will take the required amount of money directly from the players bank account instead of him having to go to the city hall to pay.

Then again the tax could be in place and a lot of people would never know they were getting money taken from their bank. Could cause problems, might inform you of tax changes through e-mail though.

I believe the non-mandatory part also refers to the citizen not actually having to pay the tax. If the citizen does not have enough money in the bank when the city 'cycles' and the tax is supposed to be withdrawn, nothing bad happens. The Mayor will receive an e-mail saying that Joe Citizen was unable to pay taxes this week, but Joe won't get kicked out of the city or anything.
