I waited all day thursday to get on so we could place our hall, we got it up about 4-5 thursday afternoon, so it SHOULD be our cycle today, right? But when i go click on the terminal here in the hall it tells me that i have a day 1 hour and 39 minutes before the cycle, that wont be until about noon friday. I was under the impression that city cycles were 7 days to the second, not 8 and a half days, just curios if any other mayors have noticed this. We have the whole town (24 declared 49 outside the radius) ready to celebrate our advancement tonite, and all of the new skills i wil receive at the cycle. If anyone can help me figure out what the deal is on this matter i would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Apparently the timer slides around a bit and it is NOT 7 days to the second.

I know last night my terminal was showing 17 hours - when 7 days to the second would have been about 13.

Daily server restarts don't count as part of the timer, so each day the timer gets pushed a little farther back.

Happened for me too. The only thing I can see affecting the timeline is the server downtime for patches, which would result in no time passed in game. They should have made the timer set on a specific time to update instead of on a countdown with no set finish line, that would fix this problem of server downtime holding up city advancement.

I thought that is was said by the devs that it is on a specific time/date counter, and downtime doesnt affect it. I wouldnt think it would be that hard unless your cycle occurred during down time.

Yeah, the timer has to "pause" when the server is down, otherwise it would have to do a lot of "catch-up" if your growth/voting cycle was during the down time. (Plus, it wouldn't be fair if you were rushing to meet a voting or population dead-line and 4 hours of "eligible" time was occuring when the server was down.)
