And geez, give it a freakin rest, would you? You're entirely too consumed in your smug, self-satisfied, apparently infallible righteousness. Not to mention the fact that someone who is never wrong should better understand the difference between "to" and "too".

    Dalyn,

You know I know that you know that this is all hypothetical you big schitzo

The point is (as noted by someone below my previous post) that a Mayor CANNOT stop you moving into the city... but he CAN stop you building a new structure in order to do it.

Im sure its a matter of taste.. but Im pretty comfortable with that settup. It allows the town to grow in an organised manner to suit the tastes of its residents. People wishing to join the town can petition the mayor to add more residential structures for them to live in, or they can approach individual members of the town and try to buy their way in. Thats a reasonable approach.

I am only sorry that the mechanics have some loopholes with regards to growth that tend to encourage city border camping and even seiges. It seems to me that these should be eliminated so that more "Political" means are required in order to join a town.

As for people that I dont know. There are now more people in my town that I "Don't know" (though I'm trying to) than there are people I have known for any length of time. They all came there by invitation extended as soon as it appeared their play style would fit in with the other citizens. The town wants to grow, and we are all happy to make new friends... we are just a little cautious that we don't get any disruptive types shattering the harmony of the area

Oh for a quiet life... hehe.

    Time to get busy again...

PosiTec heh. I totally agree.. There are new players in our PA and in our Town... I'm trying to get to know them all (being the city planer) and our recruiter (Largo) trying to get to know most of them

it is a hard... almost another job really...

which brings me to another point..

A game should be fun.. and enjoyable.. some playstyle makes other's game not enjoyable... sure there isn't a happy medium out there.. but the Devs are trying.. when a game becomes work... that is when people quit..

    Dayln,

"Lets say you have a city that is size 4, you have zoning rights on. I want to become a voting citicezn in your city, but I am not currently. Can you stop me? The answer is yes."

Actualy the answer is NO I can't stop you. I can make it slightly more difficult for you by not building you a new house, but I can't stop you buying one from an existing resident.

    You would have 2 choices..

    1) You can live on the edge of town... not a voteing citizen, but still close enough to use the facilities and merchants (unless i get realy nasty and /cityban you).

    2) You can use a little bit of people skills to get yourself in.

What you can't do is force yourself apon a town where noone wants you.

This is pretty much how towns (or any community for that matter) work in real life... and there are very good reasons for this.
