Thread: The Questions
Q: What do abilities do you get at each of the ranks? (We know you get a shuttle port at Rank 4, what about 1,2,3 and 5?)
Do city properties count against personal lots?
Who owns city property? Can the mayor destroy, redeed structures? Or is that still the property of whoever put it down first?
In no particular order of importance:
- Who is going to be able to make the deeds for the structures that can be placed in a city?
- Are there restrictions on who can place certain types of deeds in a city?
- Which deeds are going to cost lot points to put down and which ones aren't?
- Can only a mayor of a city put down parks, gardens, banks, etc.?
- Is there a detailed "politician" skill tree available for viewing?
- Will the militia be able to /ban people?
- Is the mayor the only person who can /ban people?
- Can the militia attack their own mayor?
- Are there plans for taking into account current city sizes all ready in place and standardizing player cities to match this? As it stands, sadly, the range in city radius is sadly lacking in forthought, in my opinion. 1000 m from city hall to city hall is a bit short-sighted, as well. 2000 m between would be better, in my opinion, and it would allow for the city radius to be 1000 m (500 m in all four directions from the centralized city hall, essentially--though this is rather sad for those of us who don't want the city hall to have to be the center of the city. It's a pity that city developement cannot "scope out" and "declare an area" as their own--playing with the full 1000 m range).
- What is to stop a griefing mayor and his cronies from coming in, taking over your hard-planned city, and destroying it simply because they don't like you?
- Can you be a mayor of more than one city? (please tell me the answer to this is 'no')
- Will we be able to declare a city for a faction (ie. Jabba, Imperial, Rebel, Independent, CorSec, etc.)
- Will we be allowed to 'buy' NPC militia or townspeople?
For now, I suppose those are all of my questions. I imagine I will have more.....

1.) Can a city be renamed?
2.) Once a mayor has gotten Martial Policy IV can he/she place both a rebel and imperial faction mission terminal? Does the faction of the mayor matter in what terminal can be plcaed (i.e. a neutral can place either, rebel can only place a rebel terminal).
The way I understand it is that only politicians can start a city = place a city-hall?
Or can anybody place a city-hall but only politicians can expand the city = place other city structures?
Next.. Novice Politicians will get the Skill "Grant Zoning Rights" - BUT - only an elected mayor can do this, correct?
How long will it take for the first election?
Or will the politician who placed the city hall automatically be the first mayor, until the first elections have taken place?
Reason for asking: Politician places city hall. Guild builds houses to expand it, but leaves room next to hall for other city structures (shuttle, garden, etc.).
So will the person who placed the hall be like a temporary mayor, until the first elections have taken place?
If not how can he deny zoning rights to anyone and thereby "save" the space for city buildings?
And then a carefully planned out city could be easily "destroyed" by strangers placing houses there.
My question deals with obtaining ranks...
If a village must have 5declared residentswithin a 150m radius...to get to the next rank you have to have 15 declared residents. Now do all 15 have to be in the 150m radius, or within the rank 2 radius of 200m?
Thanks Plinka! You rock!
ditto, having trouble seeing what features are linked to city rank also, where is a cpmplete list breakdown of this?

I see that shuttles aren't available until you get a level IV town. Are there any other facilities that are limited by the size? cloning? med centers? etc?

My question regards theaters. Will we be able to drop stuff on the stage space so we can make sets and things like that?
