Thread: This is not a petition but I WANT MY 1 VOTE EXP!
Based on my own politcal experience (pts) it's 50 per vote and 50 for even running. Can anyone verify if the 50 for running applies to incumbents also or just their opponents? I just know that I didn't get 100 xp per vote because I ended up with 200xp and had 3 votes.

ok it was stated we get exp based on votes and running in a election .which i ran in a ekection made my 1 vote for myself and at end of elction got 0 exp not even any for even running in the elction.
As to daylyn statement..if think about it you should get exp cause most politician start out barely getting votes and sometimes no votes till they start to get known and way they get known is by running for office and each time more and more get to know them.
Also as in my case maybe only went for the 1 vote so at least get some exp till town is going good so main mayor gets the exp and skills to improve city then when city good enough to be self sufficent then actually run against them when city can afford to have both of us spliting up the exp and votes. And as a politician isn't that what we supposedly supposed to be doing looking out for the best benifit for our city ![]()
example of same thing in rl . housing deveolepment starts off as just contractor/developer having say about anything in it, then it gets built and people move in people start to talk and get to know each other then once people there awhile and know each other they talk about things they want/ don't want in there development,Then they decide to form a group which then becomes a tenants council and so on till got enough people where now they voting for who will run it then who will be treasurer and so on..it doesn't start off as if it was a city it slowly builds up and those in charge started out with only 1 vote/oppion theres and slowly convinced others what they thought made sense and was best way/idea to do .SO yes even a persons only vote being for themselves should count as politician exp if for nothing else just fact that they ran and tried to make a change.

Well, you dont HAVE to expand at the max rate, I realise you want too. But a politician giving himself XP just seems incorrect to me.
If it's incorrect or not, it's up to discussion. You may feel so, which is fine. This is not the point. The point is this was never discussed before. As a mayor, I get the exactly same menu as a regular citizen. So, it's reasonable to assume it would work the same.
I ask again, was this posted somewhere? When player cities was on Test Center, did any TC mayor warn us about this?
We were told to expect Error, during city cycle, but we were never told our vote wouldn't give us exp. I could've placed one extra small, but that would mean one more temporary small house messing our city layout so I decided not to.
I would like to hear some input from Plinka on this issue.
Cheers,
Waters, I actaully agree with you, it is open to debate.
However not all game mechanics are going to be decided by vote, if the players got what they asked for by vote there would be no player economy, there would be nothing but personal private citites, and everyone would be a Jedi.
My opinion is just that, my opinion. And you are free to disagree.
Butt he decision will be, and should be, made by the developers alone. They are the ones that have the games interests, not a characters personal interest at heart.

Dayln, we'll accept your resignation as thread troller by this afternoon.
All I'm asking is to define the rules clearly before elections, so we can plan accordingly. I do have an opinion if it's correct or not, but I'll not express it here, since it won't make a difference! All I have to say is that I could've planned either way! Just give the rules of the game and I'll play accordingly!
And you can see from the number of people complaining here, that I'm not the only one that assumed it would work this way.
I know this is not as big as the city cap, but it's clearly something they did not communicate to us very well (or at all!).
On the communication part I actaully agree with you.
But Im not worried if I get XP this week or next week, it is the long term effect that a rule has on a game that conserns me.
As a rule, I dont think Politicians should get XP for voting for themselves, the developers may disagree or agree, it is just my opinion.

Check this topic. It's pretty clear you're minority! From the number of posts, everybody is upset about this. Sure, long term is bad, but cities are competitive and one more skill is always good to show your residents you're doing a good job. It's not the deciding factor, but it helps.
Not only that, I'm just annoyed, since I planned carefully the number of houses on this first week and I feel like I wasted some time.

It doens't make a difference. I won't even put my opinion here ...
