Thread: Devs! Jaspor Chooses to Cheat

You hit the nail on the head this is the only thing they did wrong and its an exploit. So it looks like the SWG community will wait and see what happens to people that do lock there door to the citizens of there city.

I expect the developers will fix that soon, it is not the intent of player cities.
The question is, why is the mayor that is being sieged not looking for others to join and help him. This fight is what player cities were supposed to be about.
The only thing I see done wrong so far is the locked door thing.
Dayln, don't worry, we have plenty of help lined up. Even if the privacy issue IS a bug and IS fixed, I have no doubt we will maintain the majority. But why should we make their lives easy when they have made ours hard?
Let me say this one more time for the people who can do nothing more than scream "exploit!" : the game mechanics allow it. I have not seen a post by any Developer saying that this is an exploit or illegal. We don't want to do anything illegal, we want to play within the rules of the game. If this is confirmed as an exploit, we will remove it.
What else do you want from me? ![]()
I always found it odd that SOE would ban someones account for exploiting. As long as a person does not use a cheat program, and does everything in the mechanics of the game, it is SOE fault for the exploit, not the exploiter. If there is a / command that allows you to ban someone from a city hall, then SOE has to fix it. Until they do, it is fair game to use it. If you want to get mad at someone, get mad at SOE for allowing the / command to begin with.

Rules of the game? I don't believe that includes exploiting. Wait til they fix it. Boy this is gonna be great. I will truely feel bad if they ban your account for exploiting. Then all of your hard work will be gone and you will only have yourself to blame. Did you dupe credits to pay your city maintainence also?
Chibi-Bar your lucky you are a respected mayor in your city. This thread looks like a good place to read if you want to be a politician and want to see what you will have to deal with. Not everyone should be a politician.![]()
Grabs popcorn and sits by the fire
Jaspor; if you can keep us out by maintaining a majority then fair enough. I will concede defeat to you; clearly you are buying time by cheating and I see why. But it will be sorted and when it does, make sure you do have a majority. By the way we have alot of friends in the Moenia area. cant think why; it being a rebel stronghold and all.
With regards to your concerns as to whether or not you are cheating; well I suggest your read the game guide bit about how cities are supposed to work, and then determine for yourself if your exploiting or not. Anything that prevents the fundamental gameplay intention of player cities as set out by the Devs is clearly a cheat option. And hey you flatter us by taking the cheat option.
I tell you what though; this is engaging gameplay. This is fun. The end result will be monumental. It could go on for months, or even longer!. Ultimately this fight could result in a catalyst for the GCW; a focal point for both sides in the war! Certainly if it doesnt develop that way, then that is because we will have stolen it from you ![]()
thanks chatter... well I always try to work in diplomacy..
to me.. the growth of a city is more beneficial as a whole.. than in parts ![]()
but I think this thread is mainly rebel vs imperial... since an imperial city are placed close to many rebel city (can serve as a hub.. when they grow to shuttle port size)

If you look in the post in the main SWG Forum regarding exploits and bugs. It explains why this is considered an exploit. nuff said
What is funny is that this fight is probably the best thing that could happen for that city, more and more epeople will be voting for the potential mayors on each side (lots ofexperience ), the city will be growing to max size during the conflict.
I would never give up, if I was on either side, who knows how many are ghost citicezns the developers might delete the ghost declared residence seconds before and update ( which is what they should do ), dont give them time to correct it.
I just re-read the City guide... And guess what.. I didn't see anything in there about locking the doors in city hall.
So does it not being mentioned mean it is not allowed?
By that logic, it also does not say anything about hostile squatters placing houses on the border and forcing themselves upon the town as citizens when it expands. So if the Guide does not mention it, is it illegal?
Funny how you guys interpret what is and isn't "how cities are supposed to work" to fit your own agenda. ![]()

I have to ask, as have several here before... why is using a legitimate slash command considered to be griefing any moreso than encircling a fledgling town with the intent of driving out it's current mayor and citizens? Both are mechanics of the game. Someone please show me where the Devs have said that the latter is a legitimate tactic, while the former is not.
Wait... where did they say that? Oh, right. NOWHERE! Everyone is whining about this being an "exploit" simply because they don't like it, or it offends their sense of "fair play". Well cantina griefing offends my sense of "fair play", but I've learned to live with it,a nd I don't see the devs doing anything about it any time soon.
The devs may yet decide to label this an exploit and do something about it, but until that happens, what Jaspor is doing is just as "within the rules of the game" as the squeeze tactics being applied by Zubzai. Deal with it.
