Bandlero, I didn't read your post carefully enough the first time through. Now that I have, I have to say that your plight and our plight (Politicians w/o Cities) aren't the same. You have your city - sure, they may be buggy, but you are actually practicing your craft. At the end of the week, you'll have Politician xp. How much will we have? 0 xp.

Current mayors are not willing to allow other Politicians into their cities. They don't want to risk the competition. Since they have the final say, if they don't want you in, you are not getting in. That means no xp. That means that Naboo will only have 10 Politicians above the rank of Novice.

I know this is not what the Devs intended, but that is what is happening.

Like I said a couple of times already, I don't necessarily need my own city. Hell, I don't mind if I *never* become mayor. But I want the chance to actually run for office. I know it is very early in the game, but right now the current mayors will not allow competition into their cities.

Cuathalan, yes our plights are differernt. But as I explained in a post 1 or 2 spots up, I am just saying, please don't bash us for being lucky. I do understand and sympathize the plight. Personally my town has another politician. And yes, he is running against me. I also know of at least 1 town on tatoonie on my server that has not enacted zoning rights and allows everyone to join the town. What I am trying to say is don't misplace your hate and blame those of us that got lucky. A lot of us are here and willing to help you, as long as you don't bash us. And yes, I might get 1 skill before you do, but perhaps I could train you in your skill for free. Small compensation, I know, but my point is, some of us are on your side, stop bashing us.

Sorry dude, I didn't wanna come off like I'm bashing you. I'm definitely not trying to do that at all. I'm happy to hear that you actually let another Politician into your city. That means there's hope after all for us w/o cities!

Forgot to add, if you want to find out more, we have some discussion at swgcity.com where there is a forum section dedicated to the city.

Sorry, Bandlero, only the first line of my other post was directed at you. The rest was at the situation in general. The part of your post that made me roll my eyes a bit is when you were attempting to comfort us by explaining that you had to deal with the bugs (welcome to SWG). Thinking back to reading the pre-release boards vs. beta testing, I'd take beta, hands down. I'm sure most would agree. So, thank you but your efforts didn't produce the desired effect. I probably should have taken the time to explain that before...

It can be found on the Dev Tracker forum, TH and Briar are already announcing caps will be lifted within days from what I am understanding. I think SOE should have been much more clear and loud that the caps were temporary.

yep, my understanding is that within a couple of days, anyone can place a city hall and have an Outpost and start gaining their Politician XP. There is still a cap on cities, but its only recognizing Rank II as cities or something.

I am a "politican".

I was one of the first to get on ECLIPSE server when it went up. I immediately got the message stating that I had qualified for the Politician Profession. I learned the profession and THEN found out that I lost over 500 of apprenticeship experience. I was ghastly sick. It has taken me over 2 months to get 500 exp in apprenticeship experience.

I almost quit the game when I found out. You guys can't believe how upset I am over this. I would gladly give up the profession because I didn't realize that I needed 500 exp of apprenticeship exp.

And to think, I won't get voted in as a mayor. NOBODY knows me! A few in my guild know me, but I wouldn't get the mayor's slot.

If anyone knows a dev who would gladly help me out with my situatin, I would humbly be in your debt if you could reverse the experience give-up for this profession.

As such, I have to start over getting exp with my character so they can get master marksman. I'm really bummed out about this.

Please Help!

I want to say that there are some alternatives to just waiting for the Cap, I found aGuild that was upset they didn't make the cap on Corellia, so I invited them to my town on Dantooine.

The deal is they help me get exp. by joining the town, then when the cap is dropped, I Run for Mayor on their new town.

Their New Mayor takes care of mine, and I get toPlace Structures they need because I should have enough exp. by then to give their city a bank/shuttle/ect on day 7 when the town updates!!! they wont have to wait for their Mayor to get the Lvls, and he will aslo get free training from me

I guess they could vote me out, and steal it out from me...but who cares, all I have to do is make a new city hall....

Now here is a question, if my town drops below 50 people, will we lose the shuttle port????

Never mind, I read the new City guide and a city that drops below the population limit has 1 week to get it back up before the "City" Owned Buildings are destroyed!
