He knows he'd have gotten voted out of office. That's what happens in cities big and small. New people move in and then there's an election. The current mayor may when or lose.No one playerOR PA owns a city hall. They're just the person who placed it. It is not the same as a house because theyare personal structures.

Well, atleastI know I won't punch the wrong hole on the ballot, because I can't get in to vote. lol

Anyone else who strives to achieve something in game should succumb to your playstyle and desires."

Sorry but I had tochuckleat this logic! of course the people who we are attacking think our plan is well thought out! why else would they resort to cheating? lol

As far as carebearing goes, well the truth is this. You dont build an imperial city in the middle of a rebel town and expect a peaceful life in this game. So yes it is carebearing to want peace when your parked on the frontline of a war! stupid even. And yes, any imperial city that is seen in any area of rebel controlled territory is fair game. Geez dont you ever read any history books? I mean do you know what WAR actually is? and as far as achieving things is concerned, it is only an achievement when it is gained in the normal competitive environment that is life; and that is ingame.

"This forum is the best way to get an issue to the Developers." I am sorry. This just made me laugh. When is the last time a developer responded directly to a community member regarding a problem? That, however, is a separate issue.

well fair enough; but we have already used all other avenues of communication and we feel this is important enough to pull out all of the stops, so we are trying this too. Exploiters should never be allowed to ruin game mechanics. Your support of this exploiter, regardless of what you think of our tactics puts you in a weak position.

Your idea of griefing is laughable. This is a WAR. how many times do you have to be told..you dont build your imperial city in rebel territory and expect rebels to walk by smiling forever unless you are MAD!

It seems to me that what Jaspor has done is chosen to lose.

Those / commands will be removed and Jaspor will find he's made more enemies than friends. He won't be able to keep people out of City Hall and they will vote him out of office.

It will be said of Jaspor that Diplomacy wasn't his strength.

Hi Plinka,

I've respected what you've done for the Politician profession, but it's a shame to see you draw such a conclusion. Diplomacy was attempted, and these hostile squatters refused any of our offers, many of which were reasonable.

Please point me to wherea Developersays these / commands were not intended? For all the screaming and crying that we are cheating and exploiting, it seems to me that we are playing "within the rules of the game", as our not-so-friendly neighbors love to say.

I'm a little disappointed that a Correspondent seems to be taking sides in a heated conflict that they don't know all the facts about.

I thought when you placed a city down you invited people to your city in hope to make it thrive. In the event you become unpopular you get voted out is that griefing. The majority rules in a city. Just cause you placed a city doesnt mean it yours till the end of time. When you place a city hall like a faction base you are open to any kind of attack whether that is killing NPC's or PC's or using politics to move out the current administration. Using hidden slash commands takes away the fun of the game which it is intended to be. It will be the down fall of this person that used this exploit because once it is gone he is gone from office. A politician is different from any other proffession. A politician is at the mercyof the people not of there own actions they accept people into there city based on trust and a common goal. A politician does not use an exploit and lock the gates to his residents in a city. This can happen to anyone. Anyone reading thiswith half a mind would not want to be in this situation yourself. So remember taking on the role of politician you have to be ready for the burden of a city. Apparently this major can not handle the competition running against him. Hes has become the unpopular vote in this city so it is his turn to step aside for whoever the next majorwill be. Hopefully this new major will beable to work with his residents.

Enough said!!

Now it is absolutely right that we were upset at not getting our city hall down; but we told Jaspor from the start that we never wanted to take his city from him. We realised that if we camped around the perimeter, he would not expand due to the enormous risk of us outvoting him; which with 3 PAs would not have been a problem for us. Our aim was to prevent his city growth until it was at the same level as our own.

Wrong. Your Politician, Ibac told me straight out when I asked him.

Me: "So, if we let you have some citizens so you can gain some XP, would you take over the town if you happen to somehow get more citizens then us?"

Ibac: "I won't lie, yes, yes we would vote you out."

That is telling me that you do want to take out city from us. We are defending ourselves within the rules of the game.

Rules of the game? I don't believe that includes exploiting. Wait til they fix it. Boy this is gonna be great. I will truely feel bad if they ban your account for exploiting. Then all of your hard work will be gone and you will only have yourself to blame. Did you dupe credits to pay your city maintainence also?

You have missed the fact that WE did not start the widespread bashing on the forums, but feel we must defend ourselves after this obvious griefing action. I am sure a CSR will resolve this issue quickly.

Just a tiny point here. When we brought our issue to the forums to get a feel for options and public opinion, we did NOT name you or your guild or your allies. You guys jumped in and said "Hey! That's us! And we're going to respond!"

We did not bash you. At least, not until you opened yourselves to it by raising your hand and saying "Hey, they're talking about us!"

Your quotes are meaningless invention with no corroborating evidence.

However you know **edit** well you are exploiting and this charade that it is ok in your mind to lock the city hall from competition (have you read the city guide recently?) is obviously rubbish.

You had the choice of being patient (lets face it, how many enemies give any choice at all to eachother?) but you chose to cheat instead. Jaspor nowyou have united our 3 PAs completely to the job of annihilating your city. When the exploit is coded out of the game (and it will be), we will take your littletown and destroy it for your dishonourable behaviour.

I say again this is a war. We are not friends nor will we ever be asyou are an imperial.By expanding you havedone us a favour. At some point in the future you will be voted out as a result of your expansion. Then if you move or destroy your owncity hall, happy days for us. All we ever wanted was for you to move to a more imperial player oriented area. If you destroy it and put another one down...happy days for us, as you will be back to square one. The other thing we wanted was an equal trade footing in our own backyard.

Be sure your timing is good

Again, show me a post by a Developer that says this is an exploit, and I will remove it.

By your logic of camping our border and becoming citizens because the game allows it, then it is within the rules of the game. Guess what. The rules allow / commands to work. It is within the rules of the game. I have not read anything that says otherwise by any Developer. I have not seen anything in a patch message or anything similar. Plinka said that this functionality will be removed. Fair enough, but does that mean that it is currently "illegal" like you are painting it to be?

If a Developer were to post right now and say that these / commands were not intended and are considered a bug and an exploit, I will turn off the privacy the minute I get home. Until that happens, it seems to me that it was intended and "within the rules of the game".

Where exactly are these "rules" written?

ah, so bashing without naming us is not bashing. I see.

Fact of the matter is you have used an exploit to close the city hall. If declaring the building private were part of the intent, it would have been on the radial dial of the control device for the structure. And really. Cant you just see the logic of it not being permitted? Whats to stop ANY mayor from doing it so they are not voted out...

Hopefully the devs will fix it soon And dont bash Plinka for just stating the obvious...it is an exploit and you know it.

I expect the developers will fix that soon, it is not the intent of player cities.

The question is, why is the mayor that is being sieged not looking for others to join and help him. This fight is what player cities were supposed to be about.

The only thing I see done wrong so far is the locked door thing.
