Didint work, votes for yourself should not count toward XP. You are not a politician if you cant get anyone else to vote for you.

Yes the vote should and does count in SWG too, just like the president voting for himself.

However he doesnt gain much political experience if he cant convince anyone else to vote for him.

We are not talking aobut counting votes here, we are talking about XP.

Obviously your not a politician looking at this huge skill tree you gotta climb and the only way you can do it is off these Experience points... Anyway thats all fine and dandy but it wasnt communicated anyplace that our vote wouldnt count.. So a lot of politicians got screwed... I know I packed as much as I could inour city to reach the 35 Citizensand still had people wanting in but I said wait till the expansion we already have enough for what we needed.

Obviously you are not much of a politician either if the only way you can get experience is voting for yourself.

I want my 100 XP, plus 20,000 XP for pain and suffering. I will refrain from charging 100,000 XP for emotional distress, but may add that in if SOE neglects to settle.

Dayln I was giving you the benifit of the doubt but now there is no doubt.. your a moron... It has nothing to do with my ability as a politician it has everything to do with nobody knew there vote didnt count for XP. I just said my City had 35 citizens actually after the radius change the people who put threre housing outside the radius are now in the city as well so that will bump me up to around 45 people... My city is growing just fine.. but a lot of people got screwed because they didnt know there vote didnt know...

Dayln, as cynical as your tact is, I understand your point. However, are you a mayor or just a thread-jacker?

Like the person said above, whether or not a politician should actually get xp for his/her own vote is irrelevent. We were not told otherwise so many people were counting on this vote. If I would have known about this it would have been very easy to get someone to run out and drop and house and declare.

I was in agreement with the majority of the voices here until I read this. You are right. The vote counts (as it should). Your citizen status counts (as it should). But almost all the other professions will not allow you to XP yourself. You can't heal yourself for XP, you can't shoot yourself for XP, and you can't vote for yourself for XP.

My own experisnce was sort of a "that's odd" reaction, but the more I think about it, I wouldn't look for this to get "fixed" because I'm thinking it's working exactly as designed.

If it worked exactly as it was designed that's fine, we still should have been informed. You can't tell me that they didn't foresee people counting their own vote in planning.
