Besides, the best attack is to not corpse the enemy. Doh =) And you stated as I did that 450m isn't that far to run. I suppose most of the reasoning is that bases can't be lifted. If they've been placed in location of where the city is, then that becomes a big problem. Because it wasn't stated until very recently that bases wouldn't be allowed in cities, even though we've been building our location for months now.

I totally agree that people shouldnt be expected to destroy their bases to accomodate a city. There should at the very least be a 1 week period where people can redeed them.

I personally believe it will cause far to many complications to leave bases in towns though. They are not fortresses they are towns. I can easily envision people placing 5 or 6 bases in a town if allowed to.

I personally believe that everyone who's posting to this thread should read the sticky at the top of the page.

I can't do much more than reiterate... Military bases are towns. Think about the number of towns and cities in the United States alone called "Fort (Something)".

Bases are sprawling areas, often times much larger than the cities they're in. The bases as they exist in SWG are /tiny/. One small military structure in a city should definetly be allowed.

There's going to be a buffer zone between all cities, you can just put them there . . . . I'm against allowing them in cities at all, especially since the Mayor has a limited zone of control. Give the Mayor zoning rights to the full city potential and I'd be all for it. But since they are player placed buildings, it would be terrible if comeone decided to place a faction base just outside out active radius and our neutral town grew into it, and all of the sudden we were PvP heaven wihtout our consent.

I'm biased though. I don't even think player cities should be faction-able at all. They should be forced to be neutral. With the cap it's too easy for one side of the war to grief the other side by soaking up the good spots with faction cities. But whatever, I'm neutral anyway. It's still true what blind says about the potential for having someone put a faction base outside a city and the city growing over it.

My faction base is sitting inside my city limits just fine. It's drawing me nearly 24k in taxes weekly =D We placed it not for it's "defensibility" but so that way we can run missions from it. I have completely picked up all the mission terminals in my city. The SMALLEST base, has a faction terminal, and a destroy terminal, plus a recruiter. Why the heck should I learn Military Policy 4?

I don't need decorations so there goes the customization line, and most of the fiscal line is a blaring joke. *shrug*

Unfortunately, it's possible. When an outpost, your zoning power is restricted to the outpost area. So here I come, putting a HQ in stage 2 city area, and when you grow, I'm already there and you can't do a **edit** thing about it.

I want this changed so a Mayor has to /grantzoningright to anyone within the 450m radius. It will stop ALL griefing.
