Or could you follow plan B: after the expansion I think the Maples are in charge for one more week. Redeed everything the Maple's own except one small house for the mayor. Have the Maple's removed Have the mayor jack taxes the to max, draining the Oak's cash. Pull 50k of their credits from the treasury out each day. At the end of the week, if they haven't picked up and moved out, redeed the City Hall, which I believe will effectively hijack the treasury (you may not have access to it, but you will take some of their cash to compensate you for your losses), and have someone ready to immediatly place another hall somewhere else.

My PA with over 70 members zoned out our city months ago. We placed a second PA hall on the spot for our city hall, and placed medium harvesters around to hold spots until other future citizens were ready to place houses. We have place holders in now, for cantina, med center, etc. We have 32 citizens as an outpost. We have a small number of new neighbors who will be welcomed into the city upon expansion. We also have a very firm policy that this is our city. We have another PA near us, but having them there is not any type of threat. We even granted zoning rights to one opposing faction member who asked.

There is no end to the whining from people who didn't get a city when the option was first introduced. We got ours. We planned outgetting a city and already had it layed out many weeks ago. We held mayoral elections on our PA website weeks ago. We also had a backup plan with a second master architect on another planet getting trained as a politician and standing by to drop a city if our primary planet was full.

My point is, if you wait to the last minute for things you don't always get them. We were focused, we had PA members who work nights watching the servers and notifying our pre-elected Mayor. Now if you think after all that effort that we will roll over and let someone take over our city of Mos Tyrenia (just outside the krayt graveyerd) you've got another thing coming.

I have more to say, but it belongs in another post.

I think alot of people are missing the point that some players are:

Dropping other skills to pick up politician
paying money and resources to invest in the construction of the city
taking extreme amounts of time and effort to plan and create this city

and the question is...who the hell would want to do all that if some opposing faction members or whoever can just come along, simply have more members and take everything over? Not only do you lose everything you've put into the city but now you have to move as well or face griefing in your own home through overtaxation (city mayor can charge a million creds for taxes and refund everyone but YOU) and /warn. I just don't see why anyone would want to bother with politician considering these risks and the large amount of griefing I've seen in the game already.

It would suprise me...not a single bit...if some of the larger PAs banded together with the simple task of griefing hostile takeovers of every player city on a server...it wouldn't be very hard at all.
