Thread: Simple Solution To Siege Griefing? Grace Period

I guess you're the first Politician ever to be assassinated? I seem to remember quite a few attempts in the movies. The point of killing youwas NOT your profession or PA,butyour FACTION. That's all I'm trying to get across to you Jaspor. You're an Imperial you were killed, end story. I comend you for aknowledging our tactics and I'm trying to let ALL of you know it was NOT about YOU PERSONALLY or your PA.

It was a simple fact of you're an Imperial so you were hunted by Rebels. It has nothing to do with, "Oh those are grieving, tactics" or "He doesn't like me or my PA."

As I stated in a previous post, we've done it to dozens of Imperials. It was NOT about negotiating or hostile takeover. It was strictly about Imperial vs. Rebel. Which I feel to be the main story in most of Star Wars anyway.

I told you to speak with GOA about the city situation and I suggested that all the council members get together and have a meeting. (I would suggest on MSN Messenger so no one is fear ofbeing PK'd)

To say that the attack on you, an Imperial player, was based entirely on the fact that you have a city is completely false. I'm trying to make a clear statement about this with no contradiction. But you took the attack as being hostile towards your PA/Player City which it WASN'T. From what I can gather, it sounds like you told your fellow PA members that it was. (as told to me by the AFK Chef "You raided our city")

1) I was OUTSIDE your city

2) you followed us out

3) I haveNOT insulted, griefed, threatend, cheated, or did anything to personally attack ANY player in your PA. Wish I could say the same for you.

Liz anne spits at us when we walk by. Real Life Threats to our fellow members about reporting them to CSR's for sexual harrassment among other things then going back and saying, "ok, we didn't we made it up" THAT is griefing. Taking something IN GAME thatdid NOT target ANYONE personally and turning into in game threats about trying to get our accounts banned.

If that's what GOTZ stands for then I do not see how ANYONE would want to even be associated with those kind of players. Taking something as minute as using a covert scanner to kill a covert Imperial (what it's designed for) and trying to make a real life issue targeting the person behind the character is completly ridiculous.

Jaspor is entitled to be upset. Clearly our intelligence division has done its job well. The efficacy of our siege of his small Imperialoutpost is proven by the rigour with which he has brought this story to the public domain; this is of course a diplomatic faux pas, but we all lern at our own pace.

Jaspor you are of course right in noting your proximity to the Emperors Retreat, but I am afraid this is area is still very much Rebelsville; after all, what threat is posed to us and the other 10 or so rebel guilds within the area by a bunch of impotent imperial NPCs. Your comment although technically right is sadly irrelevant to the situation which we are discussing here, as the real power in the area of your outpost is held by the players. The players...not the NPCs

so yes you are right in the middle of Rebelsville regardless of the powerless ones holiday home

Warned him? No. CLAIMED that you in fact HAD submitted one. Yes.

I'm not saying his comments were acceptable. They by far were not. I'm just saying how will you, the PA leader, respond to your own members making such threats/comments? Seeing as you're quick to blame other PA's, how do you handle your own members?

And why don't you want me at the meeting? That hurts.

Do not upset the Emperor... any day now, Lord Vader will send legions of Stormtroopers down the mountainsto wipe you and your families out of existence....

Or he'll stand there and just keep saying "You have failed me."

Because, as war or as a hostile town versus town action, your murder of me did happen.

And your presence at a peaceful negotiations meeting would be an insult to me and my Guild.

Simple as that.

I have a screenshot if you want it.

I'm glad you see the Imp/Reb thing. Like I said when we first met. We are mainly a PVP PA.

Kirus, too much agnst. get some fresh air. Talking about slashing tires and setting fires just shows an unhealthy view of life. Takeover of a city through political means is part of the game. Its meant to be there. The devs did not make this sytem so that all of could just have our little city and be happy. They made it to be part of the trials of getting a city. And if you want a city on one of the prime 3 planets you better work to keep it. If you dont want struggle go to dantooine. I can only think of one person who is 5 starring your rude out of game insult posts. But this discussion is over. He Cannot, Should Not, Will Not block legitimate residents (if he gets his city to grow to level2) from voting in the election THAT is griefing. Theres a reason that even /cityban can keep a resident out of the city hall.

Kirus go back to your server and play your game. dont get personal this is a game.

Dont know if this will work but it may...(depends on if citizens can be banned from a city they belong too)

Appoint a militia once you grow to next level, then go /cityban guild:<name>

if the syntax is the same as in structure entry then they wont be able to enter.

if that dont work try /citywarn and mabye you can fight them out.

I think that the above SHOULD be the way to deal with griefers, kick there ass, i mean why have a mitilia if they cant enforce the WILL of the current mayor...

There should be a provision, whereby the Mayor can expunge citizens that are undesirable, either by taxing them individually, or if they cant /cityban then at least /citywarn and fight it out, LIKE MEN.

But i agree with one poster, that there should be an initial grace period. 2 weeks would have been enough IMO.

If you really wanted a battle you would declare WAR from your Guild Hall, wherever that is because it is NOT in your grand city.

We welcome the chance to be attacked and attack the Militia. Lets all go Overt or declare WAR and have some fun. The walk out to my city is always so boring

Dredawg...
Are you kidding me? now this would be griefing. Give the current mayor the power to make it so he is NEVER voted out of office because he would ban and kickout anybody who wanted to run against him. and once they have a militia they are more than welcome to use /citywarn to keep us away from the ballot box... Boy this is turning un-democratic real fast what kind of police station state do you live in?

If you would have made this offer of a free City Hall deed in exchange for moving when this whole thing started, we would have very seriously considered the offer. But we were met with (mostly) insults, threats, and an ill-advised assassination of myself by one of your members while I was doing nothing by talkng. (For those playing at home, I went just outside the city border to speak with several of their alliance members who were standing there for a few minutes. They threw down a covert Imperial detector, and killed me, 4 against 1.) Although I must say, they did catch me quite offguard and unexpecting, this sort of treachery further demonstrates that the Rebels are nothing more than a bunch of lawless terrorists. And this type of violent strike against us, totally unprovoked, has made us even more resilient. You can thank your NFG allies (specifically, Ladriew) for making a peaceful solution now impossible.

What have you lost in the last week that keeps you from taking a free City Hall and thousands of credits to move? Please document the "insults, threats" and please don't confuse a GCW item of killing you with running a City. There is a reason our Politician is staying NEUTRAL
