Theyve said all along that only the bigger cities will be on the planetary map. I for one hope it is only for level 3 cities and above. Makes sense.

And just because a mayor has the skill it doesn't make that skill useable

I believe I'll be looking at 4000xps tonight. Until I get an answer on this oneI'm training for mission terminals and that's it.

Wow that would be really annoying. No where else does it mention a city level requirement for registration. Plinka any experience on this from Test Center?

Why would you register your city before you have a shuttleport anyways? Unless its really close to another city, but ours is a long way from another NPC city. No one will run 6-7 kms to see what you have in stock.

THis is just another example of how the devs were smoking crack when they made the politician skill tree. Hey, let's put skills in boxes that don't match up with the normal growth of a city!

Anyway, I too need to know this. Everyone of my 22 citizens wants to see registration as the first thing I do. But if we can't do it until level 3, then I may as well wait and get something else first that will be useful right away, like placing streetlamps.

FYI, I'm assuming the XP caps are in place with politicians too, so no one will have more than 2000 XP this week, right?

We're a few days behind from moving the city, so I guess I'll get all my questions answered tomorrow and don't get my votes until Sunday. So someone let me know about the XP caps and the registration thing, please.

Empirically, the answer now seems to be 'no'. Last night, soon after city growth, a bunch of cities got registered, including my own. All of them are, of course, Rank 2.

Thunderheart just posted something that indicates cities need to be rank 3 to register on the city map.

This isn't a flame or a rant or anything - we'll be rank 3 next week anyway - but it would be helpful to know what the answer is so that we can plan which skills to train. If, for example, you do need rank 3 to register a city, then that frees up 1000 XPs to train something else the first week.

So: is there any concrete information one way or the other?

Nope, Rank 2 is fine. Our city is on the Talus planetary map (Gorath)

Even though I'm at City rank 2, I went ahead and got Fiscal 1 so I can place banks next week after I get Fiscal 2. For the fun of it I went ahead and registered the city. I pressed ctrl-v and it showed up on my map.

dunno what's going on
