It would, the only difference is that the rebels wont eventually get though as the allied soilders did 8). Rebels are free to try though. I'll bring the popcorn.

you should really get together with someone and test to make sure that you have zoning enabled and working correctly. I have never had a problem with my zoning, only problem Ive had is with a couple people not in our PA building outside the current city radius and having the city overlap them when it expands.

can't you just ban these people afterwards and cutting off thier ability to vote and prevent a takeover?

does /ban enable a TEF when within city limits? if it doesn't, it should.

after cloning enough times they should get tired and move away, or let it go into dis-repair

"Our strategy for that was make it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out there (8k from nearest city) and put a bunch of turrets around the shuttleport. If you want to raid us we are going to make it waste alot of your time lol."

this could be a reinactment of D-Day without the beach... soldiers getting shot off and waves after waves of rebels trying to attack your main base and citizens...

I don't get why everyone is so against raids on your city. I think it adds so much more that I'm actually going to push to have PvP and raids very present for my city so that all heavy PvPers will come to the city for action and then wind up staying and using our services and products.

Ok, I got you all beat on the stress meter:

- i run a guild of approximatley 100 members,

- i run a guild network of about 20 guilds,

- i'm a mayor of a village of 70, with about 30 more inthe yet unincorporated area around it,

- i build all the houses and furniture for the city,

- i'm helping to write and run the ongoing RP events,

- i work 40 hours a week

-----------------------------------------

On another note, as mayor I place all houses in our city. It may be a bit dictatorial, but it's what keeps our city looking so nice. The problem comes in when, as the first poster said, people start placing houses in the yet unincorporated area around the city. The mayor has no control over this. So far we've gotten by by having our city far out in the wild. People don't really want to hike out there just to grief us. And the guilds that live in our city have heard my terms and thankfully agreed to them, in order to make our city big and nice. You're going to have to play the politician. Being a respectableone has worked to get houes moved for me. It's that unquantifyable part of the game that will get you the most results. However, if you have stubborn people that are just being jackasses, the most you can do is ban them and have the miltia camp outside their door and warn them to move their house or be killed, thus damaging their items. It sucks a big one that it would come to that.

Illuminatrix,

I hear you there brother. I had to actually put down an early coup attempt to set the record straight in my city.

After words i received severqal threats of someone attempting to ruin my city and making sure no one wil move there.

I tell you man all the headaches that go along with it what a stress...

Oh did you get milita as your first branch of political skill.. I did and after you /citywarn someone it becomes very clear they should move.

Just make sure you ahve enough milita around to drop them a few times the point is made quite clear then.

We arent against raids. But 2 or 3 people coming in to shoot TEFs doing missions is a pain and not much fun. What we want is to make it too difficult for a couple of people to just come over and harass us becausethey are bored. We want it to be major undertaking for the enemy and that means lots of people and a major battle. If we get raided by 200 Imps flying in on a massive wave from the shuttle I think that would be great fun. We intend to have a faction HQ in town and such and it helps to have defenses for it also. It is all part of strategy.

I'm on the imp side of that...

I really don't have problems with rebs being in our city... I just hope they don't come overt, or with tef's cause I'm ussually overt... need to be because otherwise I get kicked everytime I try to trade with someone or give em a little extra cash or heal them etc. etc. I would really like that fixed... I think it's ridiculous that they did that.

regardless I too hope to have a faction base soon and make it VERY well defended... but I will not place it in the city or place covert scanners near it... I'm against this practice... I think it's rude to other players who just are trying to get by and play the game... and I won't place the defended base in the city mainly because I want my city to be open to all... then again I may sing to a different tune after a few raids lol that remains to be seen.. I will have imp terms in the city as soon as I can get them up but not really looking into anti reb defenses yet

TIBERIAN! You are SO right on the PvP issue.

Why isolate yourselves? When that 1million credit bill comes in EACH WEEK to run your city, you are going to need all the tourists and shuttle flights you can get, from rebs or imps, to help pay for it!
