FYI -- here is my plan for the meta-community
STAGE 1: Forming
This stage is very simple -- it is all about getting the mayors familiar with each other. Get them to meet regularly. Get them to keep the gov channel alive. On Chilastra, we had our first meeting in the capitol building in Coronet. Future meetings will rotate through the player cities.
STAGE 2: Getting Feet Wet
In this stage, do simple inter-city events. The
first one will I was thinking of was a smugglers race. Basically smugglers will have to aquire a special item from one city and transport it to another. The catch is that have to avoid the town militias and discover who the contacts are in both cities. I would like to do the first of these events in a few weeks.
STAGE 3: Inter-city coordination
Once we have a few of the simple events under our belts -- we will start doing things that require a little more coordination. This will support events, as well as day to day rp operations. The events will include city-to-city battles. On the day-to-day stuff, I was thinking of the concept of "security alerts." Basically, mayors could use the gov channel for a "be on the lookout for" type of message. That way, those who want to play galactic "criminals" will have to be careful in player cities -- those militias will be watching for them
Stage 4: Coordinated GCW
This is where I would like it to head. People complain about gcw battles not really meaning anything. With player cities their can be consequence for
the result of battles. But really it will be up to the meta-community to pick a direction on this one. Of course a /ban [rebel/imperial] would be a useful tool for this phase -- but I would wait to see where we head before even asking for this.
