The point is to keep people in your city. They go out and get damaged. you are the closest med center. Tthey come to your city. Mabe visit the vender tents on the way.O look there is an ee3 carbine i think i will buy that. It is all about attracting proplr to your city and getting money flowing.

I've asked straight-forward questions of Plinka before and been given the same type of response. I understand that Plinka may not have a better answer... and that's ok. It's the tone of the response that I find disturbing. Here are some examples:

On "The Answers" thread Plinka posted:
> Q: What abilities are granted at what ranks?
> A: Some sense of discovery should be left for the player.

Plinka wrte:
> Your initial radius is 150 meters

When I and others attempted to explain to Plinka that 40 meters of questionable area on the entire outside edge of the circle is aHUGE percentage of the circle i.e. roughly 50% of the circle area at week 1 a new thread labelled 1.1 suddenly appeared.

Before you just on me about the need to respect the correspondant I should point out that I functioned, for a time, as the DAoC Armsman Team Lead. I can appreciate the stress Plinka may be feeling. I offer this advice: Be honest when you don't have an answer. Don't be smug and don't assume that people will understand a sense of humor.

Your other questions I leave as an excercise for the student.

Hey, these are perfectly acceptable "Should be in the written manual" questions, not "I'm getting bored with the game because I have to trial and error everything" questions. Hell it reminds me of old Commie 64 days where we had to press each key on the keyboard to figure out what it did because we didn't have the manual. Well we didn't warez this game, we purchased it and we expect rules like this to be in the manual.

What if the makers of Quake left it to an "Excercise for the student" to figure out which keys on the keyboard moved the player around or fired the weapon?

This is getting off topic, but I think people are forgetting that a correspondent's job is to be a link between the players and devs. They post dev info and news to us when they can, and they tell the devs our priorities for our profession, submit bug lists, and generally stick up for our concerns with the developers.

A correspondent's job is not really to answer every single question in every thread. If it's an important question that no one knows the answer to, they can forward it to the devs and hope for a response. Many of the correspondents have put together great info threads, Plinka included. But that doesn't mean that we should treat her like some kind of FAQ writer and expect her to answer lists of questions in all of our threads. Personally, I'd rather any of my correspondents spend their time improving dev communication than responding to my every post, but that's just me.

Please, this thread is not for discussing whatever grievances you may or may not have with your Politician Correspodent. If you have issues with Plinka, please start another thread, I'm sure that she will respond.

What this thread is for is to discuss the benefit of building a Medical Center in a city. A point has been brought up that perhaps the Specialization that grants a 10% bonus to healing would apply to the Medical Center alone. If this is the case, why would the two items be seperated? It doesn't make any sense to continue to pay maintenance on a facility if the specialization was changed to something else. If however the bonus was additive, this would make the medical center worthwhile to construct and maintain.

If these answers are not forthcoming, I request that the suggestions that I made, Plinka, be forwarded to the development team for their consideration.
