No official has said whether they would or wouldn't alter the caps on Thursday.....

.....this silence has been the direct result of my physical pain.

It seems also that they increased the radius on outposts. 2 houses that were just over 150m from city hall were added to my outpost. Wish they'd warn us more than 24 hours before update time... this is crazy, 12 hours to go...

a change less then 2 days before the city goes poof because you have only 7 citisens is extremly frustrating as no word was on it as you placed the city so you had know it.

i will see if we get the 3 citisens we need now or think about quiting a game. i had could live a with a buggy game and nerfes but this is to much. today because of this stupid thing i and my wife lost the fun of the game. so i think we quit with all our accounts as i dont want to play a game with persons runig it geting money from me that i cant play that i cant have fun and they they cant make their job they get my money for.

Plinka, is there any chance you could contact one of the Devs and see why they didnt put it in as promised today?

Can you provide me with a link where they said they promised to put it in today?

There was never a promise that I read to put that in today. But that was one of the changes listed with the changes they DID make today. The assumption, wrongly it turns out, was they were making those changes all at the same time. The origin of this was TH's "Where we are going post"

His text says over the next few days or weeks but the relevent paragraph seems to link the taxation issue and size changes to the cap. Perhaps that is the misunderstanding.

I can't remember who said it. I think it was TH. They said the city cap will be lifted during the patch on the first week of December

Ok, I was wrong.

He didnt specifcly say today in the 'Where Are We Going' post, but I'm sure I saw him saw it was on the agenda for today's hotfix...

I'm still searching!

Ok, I'm not the only one who saw this 'phantom post', there sure seem to be ALOT of other people in the 50-million topics about today's patch that saw it also...

you are absolutely correct. people saw this and instantly made it into today's patch.

it seems they forgot the statement about december completely.

Sometimes people want something so bad, they are willing to think they saw something and then yell at other people as to why it didnt happen.

When he mentioned lifting the cap in early December that was before this new outpost strategy. He insinuated that this new outpost strategy would be implemented immediately. To me the three things went hand in hand and they only put 2 of the 3 in, leaving out the most important one to players.

1. Outposts no longer count against cap, not in the patch.

2. All city population requirements increase by 5, made the patch

3. Outposts can no longer set taxes, made the patch.

In the patch notes, they make a distinction against cities and Outposts.

Are Outposts not cities?

We currently have a city of 8 people. One city hall, 8 homes, 2 storage houses, 3 merchant tents. We are an Oupost and out city hall was placed on.. last Friday night.

We have three other co-workers who will be joining us, but of course, the weekends are better for them.

So, any ideas on what we should expect? I'd hate to see the city hall go poof this evening
