Mishap; aptly named

This kid is 30 something; is absolutely justified in his actions; and playing within the rules of the game. And actually taking part in the GCW. What part ofthat makes me a tool?

Well, I would say the first qualification for tool would be that a 30 something year old came to a message board to tell someone in a game that they made you mad so you are going to grief them. Second, it appears that your temper tantrum and "justifaction" is just a fascade for the real issue - you are pissed because you didn't get to have things your way.

I understand where both parties are coming from-

Party One is doing hostile take-over of the city (which is how thePBCs were designed, since in RL, people move in and vote mayors out)and Party Two doesnt want all of his hard earned work to go to waste.

I fell bad for both parties in this case, but cant side with either one.

I see their hard work as well and when they mentioned they had another city spot scoped out, I offered to make them a FREE city hall of their choice along with enough credits to re-claim all the deeds of their houses.

Ok guys lets get back on track its not about people being mad. Both sides are mad and oneside used and exploit and the other is bringing it to light. Pure and simple. Brinigng this to light will allow for future fixes so others will not have to have this same exploit happen to them. That is the intent and it makes perfect sense.

I don't agree with the tactics on either side.

What makes everyone think that you have a right to take over a city that a group of people worked very hard to create and spent the credits and tons of resources in making. It's as if we just moved next door to your large house and it and everything inside of it will be mine if I go in and claim Im the admin and enough peope agree with me.

If cities are meant to be so open to being taken over by just anyone then the devs need to give the items away for free.

I am sure Plinka can get to the posts much faster than me, but the Devs clearly don't want PA only or Faction only cities. The main idea is another battleground in SWG and the GCW. The Devs say that ANYBODY has the right to move into ANY city to take it over if that is how the cards fall.

Mishap, had you been here yesterday, you would realise, that Jaspor posted on just about every forum about his upset at us spoiling his carebear world with legitimate and well considered tactics.

Clearly you are the tool. This forum is the best way to get an issue to the Developers. maybe you use the ticket system? hehe

Mishap, everyone who didnt get a city down is upset. But you dont get mad, well you do at first, but then you sit down andyou figure out what is the best thing to doin the context of the game to remain as competitive as possible, and to live up to your role in the GCW. What we had to do wasa obvious to most of us. We are talking about 3 different PAs here all of a like mind.

Muhahaha, don't you realize that a mayor is all powerful while in office. Its quite simple he sets the tax to 50% and pays back his friends while he keeps you out by making the city hall private or placing a fountain or statue over the ballot box so you can't access itand thenhe trains under milita and /ban and /warn everyone of you. Then once the Devs decide to fix the city hallprivacy and being able to block the ballot box with furniture all he has to do is destroy the city hall before the hot fix day when no one is on and goes far away with all his friends and place it with out you guys knowing. Oh and all the money he made from over taxing you would now be in his pocket.

Its simple either you can take on a politican the real way by putting someone else and basing the decision on their policies or you can use mean tactics forcing the politican to do the same.

They have set the taxes at 2000 income and 50% property. 50% property on a small house is 192 per day and 1344 per week. We have masters in almost every crafting profession so those credits shouldn't bother us.

They already did the /citywarn last night and they had a long walk from the cloning center. Then they wouldn't /citywarn us again until a few of us got bored and left, then /citywarn the last couple guys. Which is perfectly fine with us as we often have to travel much farther to PvP.

This is what I fear and don't understand...

1. We have a city.. it is register.. I hope that others will join us and make it prosper. Thus far the people we recruited are co-operative. I have justify everything I do in the city (thus far raising income tax to 2k/week and 1% sale tax and 0% property tax just to maintain a city.. but right now it is in the negative.. I have to put money in myself) I hope that new players coming in will see the same way.. why displace a mayor who already started? they have the skill to make the city great.

2. I felt bad that others did not get their city in their home planet, but I don't think griefing even within the game mechanics are still right... both are doing it wrong.. I think it should have been resolve via diplomatic means.... (then again.. being opposing faction within 1km of each other is not that good of start to begin with) so it is both side are griefing in a way

Chibi-bar you sound like you are doing whats best for your residents at your own expense. It looks like this city expanded and has new residents and the mayor is not listening to them. Therefore the majority of the city would say he is a bad mayor and vote him out. If the mayor listens to his people he can have his city, if he does not he is removed. Thats politics. The major that locks himself in a city hall to runa city without the listening to hisresidents (new and old) is a stuck up child affraid his parents will take is toy away.

I simply love this whole thing, this is how player cities were supposed to be. The second you place a town hall, they city is not really yours anymore.

Waiting for the next chapter when the developers fix the door exploit

Sasheria,

I dont think you have to worry about it. There have been alot of factors that went into this conflict. Most of which shouldnt happen to an honest and what seems to be hard working outpost as you have on your server. There is going to be political struggle on the 3 major planets especially when a PA doesnt thoroughly plan and ends up with a bad location and then tries to keep the city exclusive through an exploit. They placed their city down smack dab between a rebel stronghold(moenia) and a player city that has been in place and planned for 4 months.surely they should have noticed 3 pa halls and 40 some odd buildings just west of their city. Maybe they didnt, but poor planning in any case. Good luck with your city, hope you can attract some residents

"...Jaspor posted on just about every forum about his upset at us spoiling his carebear world with legitimate and well considered tactics."

Who is considering them legitimate and well considered? You? Obviously the people who started the town don't think so. I guess every city started that you deem as being "carebear" is subject to your griefing? I guess your "world" is the only one that matters. Anyone else who strives to achieve something in game should succumb to your playstyle and desires.

"This forum is the best way to get an issue to the Developers." I am sorry. This just made me laugh. When is the last time a developer responded directly to a community member regarding a problem? That, however, is a separate issue.

You are masking your intentions under the guise of "following game rules". It is evident that you are griefing him. Move in and vote. If you can't vote due to him exploiting then report it and wait. Your goal is understandable but your means of achieving it is just as dispicable as the exploiter.

From now on, ouraim is your total destruction. When this exploit is removed as it surely will be within the next few days or week, we will run our mayor against yours; we will out vote you; replace you and then destroyyou.

I had hoped to avoid this level of confrontation with you and your members, but nowwe have no choice.

Great post - I hope that you wipe Jaspor and his fraudulent city off the map - I can loan you a couple of commandos if it will help - we should have NO MERCY on people who use exploits with the politicians profession, as it affects others people's use of the game profoundly.
