Thread: Valadon's Politician FAQ, v1.2 (my OFFICIAL version)

TwoHead, I can honestly say I never looked in the answers thread for one simple reason; it was impossible for me to find anything. It wasn't a bad thread, it was just a Q&A, and its hard to find information like that since it is unsorted.

I am sure she answered MANY of the questions I included in my FAQ, but that doesn't mean she owns the information. She may have answered "You get the ability to make a specialization at city rank 3" but that doesn't mean I can't include it in my FAQ because she posted it first.

My ENTIRE goal here was to help you guys out, I wanted to organize the information in an easy to read document. I used the skill tree on the website I linked too, and the info request thread that Fueller posted that excellent city rank list in. However, I did not use the question/answer threads to obtain my information if thats the problem here - but it shouldn't be. I gave Plinka credit anyway, because she has answered questions for me in the past.

Thats true, it probably does belong to SOE. I still think that for my hard work I deserved to be asked permission, even if it was just out of respect.

Shouldn't that be KOTROCR ... "Knights of TheReallyOld and CrankyRepublic" ?

From the tone of this thread I'm picturing an army of Monty Burns' wielding canes in place of lightsabres ...

Nevertheless ...

Thanks for working to compile the information ... thanks to Plinka for all her hard work so far ... you guys are on the same team, so quit acting like that team is the 49'ers and one of you is Terell Owens .....

The previous version was hard to read, and this one is slightly better. The formatting that Plinka had done was the best, and I actually read the FAQ all the way through.

If you decide to do version 1.3, I'd suggest losing the dark grey for the city structures since it blends into the forum background. The red italics for the city commands is also very hard to read. The blue for the city ranks is bad as well.

I happened to look at the formatting on a number of those other posts you linked (although I can't believe you took the time to cut and paste all those), and for the most part they were very easy to read. In the initial thread people made some suggestions and you blew them off - which is why Plinka probably reposted it.

This whole thing is really silly.. but hey, whatever floats yer boat.

Who cares.

FAQs aren't something usualy contributed to an author. It's just a FAQ, not a novel. Also, this FAQ in question isn't entirely your work. All of it is gathered from these boards and other sources that have been talking about this since the profession started, just like every other "FAQ" or "Guide".

You typed it up, formated it, painted it pretty colors, and your fingers probably hurt. Keep up the good work. Be happy it gets stickyed, but don't demand fame or credit. That's a big turn off and you'll only be remembered in a negative way.
